Sainsbury's

"The management at Sainsbury's should all be given the sack. Somebody had the bright idea to stop putting sell-by dates on the fresh veg, 'to reduce food waste'. All the fresh veg is rotten. No joke, it's all inedible. The meat section is no better. The packs of meat do still have a sell-by date but it goes off well before that. I saw an entire shelf section of mince today, all discoloured and all unsold. It was brown and putrid looking. Sainsbury's also have very many own-line food products which at one time were good value for money. Not any more. The prices have gone up and it seems like they have gone to a different supplier to make the stuff out of cheaper ingredients. Taste the difference? Well yes on these particular things you can really taste the difference. They have all gone yucky. The packs of frozen curly fries are truly disgusting. They have also changed the trifles, the instant mashed potatoes, choc ices... all once favourites with my kids, and now urgh yuck."

"Located in a busy area with lots of busses and 2 train routes. This shop is big and inside the shopping centre and has a car park."

"Got a good selection of everything but I think quite expensive. However, since Aldi local opened nearby, they have good offers on fruits and veg. No fresh meat or fish counter. They got removed after Covid."

"Have visited many times over the years. It’s a big shop, so a pretty good selection across items. The prices are pretty good. I often do some of my recycling here, specifically for shopping bags, batteries and filters (like Brita filters). The beer selection here is OK but frankly it could be better. The staff are fairly helpful and friendly. The place is located in the heart of Dalston, so pretty convenient. It’s certainly one of the better options in the area if you’re doing a big shop or just want a large supermarket selection."

"It was OK but took ages to work out which steak to buy as it wasn't clear on packaging as to most tender ones, and the reception on mobile was low. Apart from the steak being on offer, there wasn't much good deals, apart from snacks.There should be more offers during such a crisis. Friendly staff."
