"At the self check out a female member of staff asked me to look under my bag if I hide anything in bad way. I called the manager explain everything and she was extremely rude shouting and saying people's stealing hire that's why we check everything ,this happen on 31.03.2023 till number 2 around 9pm"
"Andreiz (manager) extremely rude, aggressive and intimidating and Nancy (sales assistant) extremely rude and unhelpful. Sales assistant and Manager failed to provide customer service when approached for assistance regarding the location of an item - instead, Manager (Andreiz) aggressively shouted ‘why don’t you go back to school and learn how to read!’ As if that wasn’t enough, the manager then followed me to the self checkout to stand RIGHT behind by me whilst I scanned and paid for £3.22 worth of shopping , so that (in his words) he could watch what I am doing?! Charming!!"
"I shop in this store most days, maybe even daily and today whilst paying for my shopping at the self check out a female member of staff approached me mid getting my card out and asked to look in my bag. I said why? And she told me Aldi have a new policy where they check people’s bags on check out. I paused and questioned her as it seemed ridiculous and I had never heard of it. I then realised it was the same woman who in the summer whilst I had finished paying and was packing my shopping asked me if I had bought the pint of milk that was under my pram, bearing in mind I’m packing my shopping and anything heavy I put under the buggy. I showed her my receipt but was embarrassed. I went home today and googled their policy and she lied. They are allowed to check your bags if that a reason by it’s down to their discretion and they don’t check everyone’s bags. I called up and made a complaint and the 1st customer service rep put the phone done, the second heard me out and agreed it seemed weird and the manager called and was extremely rude. It’s seems clear to me as a brown woman, that member of staff was clearly racial profiling me. I will not be shopping at Aldi anymore, I’ll go to Lidl no problem. Nicer shop, cleaner shop, and friendly staff. Also, I’m going to take this as far as I can and I’ll make sure my friend with 20k followers reposts my Instagram story."
"Lovely store with 1.5 hour free parking, more than enough to shop. I dont visit there very often so I was surprised and impressed at the amount of staff on the shop floor. Sainsbury's and Tesco need to take note!"
"Close to Norwood junction station, this branch used to have a toilet facility. No longer the case now. Staff hold the carrier bags at self-checkouts. They stand there looking all intimidating and frowning. Not limited to this branch only. They don't trust and value their customers. Not the kind of attitude you'd expect from members who staff who are meant to be professional, namely in their conduct and demeanour. I'm not feeling generous about this review, so until they learn to trust and value us, then this will stay at a 1-star review. The toilet facility provided convenience in the past and since that's no longer the case, then it's only made things very awkward. Local station is Norwood Junction. Literally a stone throws away."
