"Good value for money on a more limited range of lines than the nearby Tesco and Sainsbury's stores. Shopping baskets tend to be dirty and look unhygienic. Generally friendly staff. Unfortunately, they now have a new policy that they only open self-service machines when a queue builds up. So, you can expect to queue even when there are machines available! That's not customer focussed, Aldi!!"
"Staff think it’s okay to go through customers bag without asking and without permission. They accuse customers of theft before they have even left the store (of items which were purchased from another store). Customer’s personal space was invaded and her property touched after they asked 5+ times to ask her before grabbing her stuff. Clear racial profiling here. Every member of staff including security needs to be sacked."
"The staff are good and Aldi is unbeatable on price this is my usual supermarket. Please be careful I had my bag stolen a few months ago whilst shopping. The security guard did absolutely nothing he was useless. The manager checked the CCTV and told me a man was following me around the shop and waited for the opportunity to steal my bag. Please make sure you always have your bag around your body and locked. Be aware of who is behind you and try and avoid the shop when it's really busy."
"First off, I'd like to say that there are two or three check out staff who work here who are absolutely lovely, really pleasant and kind. If I could give them five stars separately, then I would. Unfortunately, overall, I find the customer service in this branch to not be that great and would rather go to other supermarkets from now on. They may be more expensive but at least for the most part, the staff seem to have a nicer attitude towards customers. After waiting a while to speak to a manager, I was told that I would need to go out on to the shop floor to find one. I asked if I could give the feedback online and I was told that I could do in a rather uninterested way. I asked for the name of the member of staff I wanted to give the feedback on but this was ignored. I finally got to speak to the manager and have never come across one who blames the perception of the customer for their poor experience with the staff in their shop rather than take on board (and not just on some face value, superficial level) what the customer is trying to say to them. Especially when the customer in person is speaking to them in a calm, polite manner. It seemed that in his view, I should understand that Aldi Streatham is a very busy, stressful environment and that staff may need to shout to make themselves heard. He knows the member of staff is a very nice person and wouldn't be deliberately offensive. My point was that people can speak in a loud voice and still be polite and pleasant rather than abrupt and irritated. But any negative experience I had was down to my perception according to him. The fact that the manager himself was present when the member of staff at the closed check out was, in my opinion, very impolite in how she informed me that the check out was closed, and didn't say anything to her at the time, to me says a lot about how things are done at Aldi Streatham. When I brought up the fact (in my opinion) that his body language seemed to show that he wasn't interested in what I was saying and that I was bothering him, this again was down to my perception. My response that the majority of communication between humans happens through body language, was completely dismissed by him and his opinion was that humans communicate mainly through words. That is his view but perhaps he might want to look into what communication experts say regarding non verbal communication. Anyway, I mentioned to him that I might take this further and this has all been reported to the customer service helpline and while I suspect nothing much if anything will happen, at least the person I spoke to on the phone was very nice and understanding. She said it had been sent to the store management team, hopefully there'll be some positive changes but that's not something I'll be aware of as I don't think I'll be going there again. Morrisons Streatham was so much nicer, I used to love going there and that's not something I usually say about supermarkets."
"Exceptional store, helpful staff, abysmal security! Don't know what happened to the old security personnel but the new staff absolutely terrible really take their job far too seriously which is not a bad thing in some cases but this store is not exactly the final word in luxury! Rotate security staff, fix self service tills! 5/10 heading to the dogs, go to M&S next door. Poor"
