Reviews
"Has a really annoying anti customer one way system. AVOID at all costs"
"I have never left a review for a store before, but my experience was so bad, I felt compelled to leave this review. I would give 0 stars if I could, however that is not an option. On the 13th of November 2022, I went to my local Sainsbury's in Archway and purchased a few items at the self service checkout. Unfortunately, I did not take the items of which I had paid for. I did not leave the store immediately and stood at the side near the security guard to ensure that my receipt and personal belongings were safely put away. When I arrived home, I realised that I had left my shopping behind. Therefore, I returned to the store and spoke to an employee regarding the items I had left behind (I was later informed that her name is Begum). As soon as she saw me she decided that the transaction had not gone through and further asserted that a red light was flashing and insisted that the goods had not been paid for. Begum was adamant about this and refused to allow me to take the goods. Unfortunately at the time I did not have the receipt. I insisted they check the tills record and CCTV, which they refused. I also spoke to the security guard who at the time was present through out the entire transaction (he refused to give his name). His response was that he did not see anything at all. At the time I was left feeling upset, frustrated and humiliated. Therefore, I had no choice but to repurchase the items. I left the store and returned with the two receipts in order to receive a refund as I'd paid twice. Begum was no longer present and a male employee was in her place. He called her and informed her that I had returned to get the refund. He was told by Begum to refuse the refund and said I should return the next day. I was shocked by the response as a phone call was undertaken to his senior. Whilst I was trying to negotiate a refund, the police arrived. Begum informed the police with conviction that the original transaction for the items were unpaid for. The police made an assumption that I paid by card and asked to see proof of purchase on my phone. (I paid by cash, so a red light could not have been flashing as she had claimed). Upon seeing the receipt of a cash payment on both receipts the police requested Begum issue a refund immediately, which she finally did in front of all of her colleagues. Despite the fact I paid twice, Begum made an assumption that I was trying to rob them of their goods. I didn't receive an apology, instead she made an arbitrary decision to ban me from the store even though I had proven her dishonesty. I do not shop at Sainsbury's anymore. As a result, I have discovered that Sainsbury's often overcharges their customers for identical products, which can be found cheaper elsewhere. The following day I decided to contact the Executive Office and was responded to by someone of the name Verity Pointon. It turned out that the store manager, had looked at CCTV footage of the incident and informed Verity. They were both in support of their colleague, Begum. I feel that this was a very biased view of what had happened. Of course I was upset at not being believed, and as a result I raised my voice. It is a shame that they were not quick to look at the CCTV footage or the tills record for proof of payment, when I had first reentered the shop to collect the items. Again, I was extremely upset and distressed and I believe raising my voice was a valid response to this unbelievable, dreadful customer service. I did not use any foul language, abuse, or threaten the staff at any point. If you made it to the end of this review, thank you for taking the time to reading about my experience. P.S Compare Sainsbury's prices with other supermarkets' identical products for yourselves to see that you are indeed being overcharged."
"Absolute disgrace when it comes to Argos returns. They tell you they don’t accept returns and send you all the way down to the Holloway Road store. Even with a newborn baby and a toddler they didn’t care less. Wasn’t until I got to Holloway Road Argos I was told that it was complete rubbish and they should have taken the return. Second occasion they tried sending me away again, stood my ground and then was told by the manager ‘we just ADVISE people to go to Holloway Road’ Seriously?! Didn’t sound that way when they were TELLING me to go Holloway. I boycott this place now, they don’t know the meaning of customer service. They shouldn’t be allowed to Have an Argos in their store if they can’t provide their customers with even minimal assistance."

"Arrived at the shop at 11.25, security guard would not let anyone in even though the shop is meant to close at midnight."
