"It's a bit different to the usual stores like Sainsburys and TESCO in so much as it's an "Upmarket Convenience Store". What do I mean? Well, there's genuine cheap stuff like crisps and nibbles - mini popadums and tasty bits and pieces and then there's a super quality, if expensive meat counter that has a real butcher, and lovely cheeses on sale at the rear of the store. There's nice looking fresh meats in packages and lots of cooked meats. The fruit and veg looks pretty good as you walk in with the produce laid out very temptingly like a farmer's market. There's a decent but smallish bakery area with unusual frozen, ready to bake cakes and pastries which is different. You'll find sushi to go and party catering in the front centre of the store. There's a pretty good selection of wines, spirits and soft drinks and the previously mentioned "Wall of Crisps". It's all crammed into a fairly small site with quite a lot of unusual brands, some of which is a little overpriced. Anyway, if you can't make it to a large supermarket this isn't too bad an alternative. Budgens try hard and overall, I think they do a good job."

"I come here for the great range of craft beers. They also have cycle parking right out front which is a nice bonus."

"Recent changes to have self-serve as the main payment method has made the experience very unpleasant as most shoppers still wait for the person to help them and some machines give errors. Also the elephant in the room that this is clearly a cost saving measure. Budgens is the most expensive option on the East Finchley high street so I don’t see why the shopping experience has to be cheapened so. Even the Iceland next door gives you face to face service."

"Always a good shop. Has an excellent selection of food including vegetarian and vegan, fresh fruit/vegetables, bakery and frozen section. They also have a fresh meat counter and growing herb counter! Excellent idea. I can always find something a little different for dinner idea's in here"
