"I have reserved writing this view for some time now due to the fact that this market is unique and sells some WONDERFUL products. However, whenever I buy LARGE amounts of goods (not small amounts) I am overcharged, in some cases considerably, such as last time when I was overcharged a little under £20. It is the third time now, and I only realize it when I get home and tally the receipt with the products. Looking back over my bills, the overcharge normally comes in the form of multiple purchases of single items. One may ask, 'how is it that this could happen' - it's not possible with 'big buys' to check the till and the product while you are packing because the till and items are behind a screened counter - other times it is that you don't have your glasses with you to check the bill when it is all rung up, or the time to check the bill for fear of unnecessarily holding up the queue. Additionally, while the receipt that you are given is itemized, the items are not immediately identifiable as they do not have product names next to them. I didn't want to write this review, but felt compelled by the third time of being overcharged - I am not the only one!"

"I've loved this place for 25 years! The staff range from pleasant to lovely! They warm to you as they get to know you. You can buy the best kubes here. I'm not Cypriot but I've tried them from many places and these are always the ones I wish I had. Try the flaouna around Easter, and definitely sneak some mini tahini pita for a treat with a cuppa. The olive bar is amazing, and there are wonderful fresh breads and also fruit and veg. Prices are on the high side but the quality and selection are fantastic. The shop is always busy and bustling, and the atmosphere is wonderful too."

"Overpriced. Disgusting, shameful Greek pastries that had clearly been sat in the shop for a while. The woman behind the counter was brash and rude; not even a thank you or goodbye. She wasn't rushed off her feet. Should have gone to Aroma instead."
