Reviews of The Old Red Bus Station
"Good events space, nice staff and bar. Soundsystem perhaps not the best in Leeds but loud enough and great djs and nights on"
"This place is always spot on. Good prices, good food, lovely staff. I highly recommend it. I would have posted a photo of the food but I ate it all. I highly recommend the “Hashbrown Down” burger with a side of hot sauce."
"Love the burgers here, they're so good especially when they had the full menu with a variety of burgers. Some of them being amongst the best vegan burgers I've had. Just had the plum sauce wings and salt and pepper chips which were delicious, highly recommend! Cocktails are excellent too."
"Unusual experience (quite long sorry!) - all the food is vegan, the place is quite big and we did not find the background music too loud as other reviews said it would be (we did go on a quiet night though). I ordered the 'Now then mush' burger and my friend had the 'Hellfire' burger. Her's was ok (not amazing but not bad either) mine was really bad, so bad I couldn't finish it. The sweet potato side salad I had with it was really good. I said something to the barman because I thought it must have been a mistake given the generally good reviews of the food I'd seen. The barman went back and forth between his manager and eventually suggested it must be just me that doesn't like it - not to my taste. I convinced him to try the burger patty and he spat it out into a napkin it was so bad. He took it back to the chef who realised it was an ingredient he had changed that day because he ran out of the normal stuff which had made it taste bad. They then offered us another free burger - we chose the 'Mac got Fat', we got a free milkshake (vanilla), a free beer and a free coke. I'm really glad they believed me in the end but I had to convince the barman to try my food. The manager never came over to speak to us which would have been better than sending the barman over at least 4 times before it could be resolved and I can only assume this was because the manager did not take our complaint seriously at first. The replacement burger was good and the vanilla milkshake is excellent. I would go back to try other things as this place is good value for money vegan food in the centre of Leeds. 2 mains for £12 at certain times is a really good deal. The bus station brew beer was 2 for £5 before a certain time and it's really nice. Can't justify giving them 5 stars because the original burger was so bad! (Although looks like this was due to a mistake but the chef should be trying the food if using something different as an ingredient!). I am definitely going back for a milkshake if nothing else!"
