Reviews of High Ashes Rural Project
"Amazing, It was so beautiful and the haven ball tent was just like home. It was so warm and comfy. Will be staying again. There were all of the facilities like toilets our own kitchen (with a fridge!) and even inside the tent there was a kettle, heater, table, beds and air beds. Most of all the host was so accommodating he gave us firewood, fresh eggs and milk and a warm welcome. He was also a great company. Lastly, it was very peaceful and calming and there were a lot of ball games to choose from."
"Absolutely amazing, so beautiful. We are staying in the Shepard's hut, which I can't recommend highly enough. Phil the owner is so nice and friendly, would 100% come back here without a shadow of a doubt. Can't rate this place highly enough A*****"
"Very lovely 2 night stay with friends & children. Lovely & peaceful but easy access to places to visit. Has everything you need & Phil , the owner, could not do enough for us. Highly recommended."
"Well what a fantastic place! Arrived feeling thoroughly stressed and within 5 minutes realised I'd hit the de-stress jackpot ... beautiful scenery, a procession of ducks quacking their way to the pond, views to die for and THE cosiest little Shepherds Hut that perfectly balanced modern comforts with olde worlde charm. The bed was sooo comfy! The welcome pack (which included a bottle of prosecco!) had home made jam, giant marshmallows and biscuits perfect for smores, all of which was put to good use on the fire pit which was all laid and ready . There was a pizza oven (also ready to be lit) and everything you could possibly need in the kitchen which was in its own area, although there were tea and coffee facilities in the hut. The adults occupied the generous King sized bed (which I struggled to leave behind) and the kids bedded down on the floor on air mats we brought with us, although there was a carpeted 'den' under the bed as well. With just the one hut we had the whole place to ourselves although Phil was around if we needed anything and we soon realised we had a lot in common so had lots of good chats! The loo/shower room was great, well stocked with lots of eco friendly products (another major thumbs up!). Great places to walk nearby including one of the best views in the whole of Derbyshire at the Fabric and it was lovely to see a newly planted English woodland taking root on the farm :). We will be back!"
"Attended a dry stone walking course here. Site is ran as a community venture to provide training and experience in rural activities. Some on site accommodation and the hosts are friendly"
