"I went there two Saturday's ago and after almost an hour of sitting with no sign of being served, I got up and left. I went there many years ago and had a much better experience. I wish black salons would understand that if people book a service at a particular time, that's when they expect to be seen, not an hour later. There's no offer of a drink of water whilst you wait, no eye contact, nothing. They should advise customers that there is a waiting period and be upfront, because I paid for a childminder so I could come to my appointment and ended up leaving without my hair did, and a childcare bill to pay. I refuse to spend my money in businesses that don't value their customer's time or provide good customer service, which is disappointing for me as I genuinely want to support local black owned businesses."
"Had my first experience there on Saturday, and loved the atmosphere of ‘old school’ hairdressers. Hairstylist did my hair exactly how I wanted. I would recommend if you don’t mind waiting but they do get the job done."
"I called and asked about if they did cornrows, (no extensions) and how much this would cost. I was told yes, and it would cost about £35-£45, depending on how many rows. I made an appointment, which was honoured. When I got there, they washed my hair but I had to ask for conditioner to be added. Apparently they only really specialise in dreadlocks not cornrows and with locks you don't need conditioner. They blow dried my hair but I had to ask for heat protection. They didn't have any, but my hairdresser did use a lower heat to compensate. . The lady who did my hair was good and agreed to redo 3 rows that were on a different angle from the other side of my head. She also included the curves, as I didn't want just straight back. I was surprised it took 3 hours and I was charged £50. Maybe not the place to go, if you want everyday cornrows. Or to nurture non locked hair. But from what I saw, they seem very apt at dreadlocks."
"My first impressions: The general vibe of the establishment is very homey, warm. They gave me an appointment within a few hours notice. Even offered to take my hair out and washed it for me! Candice was the Loctician who done my hair, she explained the whole process including after-care. Candice also took photos and showed me each step of the way to ensure I liked it, (I wanted them quite large), then styled it at the end! Very professional, would definitely recommend. 10/10 Will update as I continue my journey."
