Reviews of The Limbrick Centre
"Words can’t describe how much I appreciate every single staff member here. I’ve been with the limbrick centre since October 2019 and had one of my final appointments today. I’ve been working with many staff members in this time and they’ve all been amazing, I’ve been recently working with janis and Eden and hand on heart can not tell them how thankful I am for them. If it wasn’t for the limbrick centre I wouldn’t be where I am today, they treat me like family and made me feel important in this world which I haven’t had for a very long time. I’m finally getting back to my old self. It’s been a long HARD road but I wouldn’t have done it without you guys, thank you for everything you’ve done for me over the course of 3 years. I will forever be thankful for you and you’ll always have a special place in my heart. Laura myers"
"some great staff some not so great staff. paulette McDonald and Abi Hatton were fantastic at helping me through my problems and always glad to help. dr abed and the others seemed very judgemental. I was in hospital and very distressed and dr abed thought it was appropriate to bring a junior dr with her to have a chat with me and when I refused she dismissed me and went on her way. appalling."
"Saw someone out and about today who reminded me of the lady who 'treated' me here for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder in 2005. Thought it was about time I wrote a review on the service/treatment I received here. Firstly, I do not believe that it was actually a psychologist who 'treated' me here (she did not seem to know much about OCD, and seemed more like a social worker). More worryingly, however, is the way she conducted herself in our first session. Her body language was terrible. Looks of disgust, 'closed' body language, and she communicated as though she couldn't care a less about trying to help me feel better (in fact it felt abusive). Her treatment of me improved a little over subsequent sessions, but I believe that that was because she realised I was fairly intelligent, and may be more likely to complain. I was in a bad place at that time, and realise now that if I had been suicidal, her behaviour may well have pushed me over the edge! I have read reviews today that suggest that there has not been much improvement over the past 14 years!! One of the most detrimental aspects of suffering from a mental health condition is the feeling of SHAME. Unsurprisingly, SHAMING a patient will not improve their condition. It will make it WORSE. I am willing to talk to any manager who may be investigating this practice."
"I’ve found the staff here to be incredible. When suffering a mental health crisis the staff here did their best to help and I can’t fault a signal person here."
"Was given an appointment to see Greg on a Sunday. Upon phoning to explain i may be late, it went straight through to answer phone, so i was a little confused. I checked the NHS website and google, both said it was closed over a weekend, so understandably i was pretty confused. Phones again, straight through to voicemail again so i asked for call back. Was left a message on Monday Evening to call Greg back. I called Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, every time told "he's in a meeting can i get him to call you back" Never did. Only upon saying on the call friday, "this is the 4th time I've called and been told he will call me back but never does" Still no call back. Saturday morning i receive a call, "from withheld number which always makes me slightly nervous" from Greg. He seems to make more of a point that i missed the appointment on Sunday to which i explained about, phone lines not being answered, google and NHS websites saying it is closed. His response, to which i was i am still in shock over was "So, where are you wanting to go with this, do you want an appointment or?" as if it was all my problem/fault. Now to say these are "trained professionals" who know they are dealing with mental health issues, to snap back like he wanted to get the higher ground is disgusting. Im trying to get my mental health sorted and have been told i need to speak to these people, well, after my first experience i do not have any confidence at all in them. I would never in my life expect to be spoken to like that by a "medical Professional"."
