Reviews of The Grand Theatre & Opera House Leeds
"Clean and welcoming with friendly staff. Seating was well maintained and what you would expect for a theatre of this age. Everything was well organised and we had a great view of the stage. Had a very enjoyable evening watching my first ballet. Returned to watch Sister act. It was absolutely fantastic. Good selection of ice cream to suit all tastes at the interval."
"Beautiful theatre but be prepared for restricted leg room. Views of the stage were excellent but there are a number of pillars in the venue that will impact on views of the stage and you must be mindful of this when booking tickets. We were front row (left side if stage) on the upper circle."
"To see the Northern Ballet’s Nutcracker, absolutely excellent performance. I’ve never been here before and was very impressed, it’s a really atmospheric space, despite a full house entry was swift and efficient, plenty of folks to guide you to your seat, in the 15 minute interval we were able to use the toilet and get served at the bar. We had the cheapest seats right at the top and still had a good view and enjoyed the music quite comfortably."
"Beautiful inside and out, with incredibly efficient and friendly staff who went out of their way to make getting everyone in and out as smooth as possible, at start, finish and intermission. Only drawback for me was the heat as it built up through the evening. It became very stuffy on the 3rd out of 4 levels and unfortunately the lack of oxygen did make me want to get out as quick as possible at the end!"
"A quaint, traditional theatre that is simply gorgeous inside! We went to watch Bedknobs and Broomsticks and what a show...well worth a watch with some quite fantastic scenery manipulation, top knock performances and a magical and poignant adaptation of a classic."
