"Booked for 6pm to celebrate my grandsons 5th birthday. We waited 45 minutes for food. It was too late to order a desert as we had waited so long. The priority seemed to be on the delivery orders going out. This is in full view of paying customers. The waitress was very impolite bordering on rude. Shocking service. Would not recommend"
"Having not been to Pizza Express in over five years, we thought we would give it a go. We came on a Monday evening around 5ish when the restaurant had around four other tables seated. Service was beyond poor- completely lacking attentiveness or friendliness from what I guess was management (individual in own clothing). I must add there was a young girl serving however who was very pleasant and is not to be included in this. Unfortunately, she was not our main server. Considering there were very few other people in the restaurant, the time it took for our food to arrive was incredibly slow and poor. The food itself was mediocre at best. Portions were incredibly small for their extortionate pricing and the majority of things we ate tasted as though they had been recently defrosted and heated up. I was blown away on receiving a £6.45 garlic bread smaller than the palm of my hand! My boyfriend ordered the £18.45 calabrese pizza with added chicken and received a pizza smothered in rocket, clearly hiding the lack of any substantial toppings. Despite costing near £20 the pizza tasted no better than a cheap supermarket frozen pizza. I recommend if you’re looking for tasty pizza, with good service, a great atmosphere and reasonable prices in Stockton Heath, steer clear of Pizza Express and head to Rudy’s across the road instead!"
"Some Pizza Express are terrible, this is the exception, staff were brilliant, menu offers gluten free options. Try the ricotta and date desert, it's awesome. Only thing is that many pizzas had smoked veg/meat. I can't eat smoked food due to allergy so my choice was limited a little."
"We had a wonderful lunchtime in here and was given a very warm welcome by Pitty and Eszter. The service was excellent and the food was fabulous. Highly recommend a pizza called BBQ Burnt Ends, Carbonara and the Lemon & Herb Chicken Wings. We definitely will come back again."
"Went for a meal this evening, had to wait by the door for 5 minutes before even being seated, the staff members were just acting like we weren’t even around at first. The place only had around 4 tables in. Once we got seated our waitress was great served us quickly and food came out quick within 15 minutes. The other staff members just seemed to have been lounging around and when a family came in to ask if they had to book or if they can just have a table for them they got turned away to say they haven’t got availability. It was frustrating because the place was empty almost and there was plenty of seating around. Around us when people started to leave it took the staff over 30minutes to start clearing tables and clearing and cleaning them which isn’t acceptable considering COVID and that the place wasn’t even busy. Also none of the staff were wearing masks at all and it felt quite unsafe as the cases are currently rising. The best part was the quality of food, I personally think that the staff need to be more on the ball and to also be COVID safe. I will not return until I know things have changed."
