"this hospital closed some time ago. I guess when Dewsbury District Hospital opened. it was then taken over and opened as carlinghow nurseing home. i am not sure when or why this closed. it would be interesting to find out if anyone knows. rhe building is now boarded up and empty. it looks like there has been a fire on some of the upper floors? and the building is looking pretty sorry for its self. however there is a row of terrace houses opposite which used to be the nurses accommodation and it looks like someone is renovating these.. When it was first built it was used tuberculosis Hospital TB. Pictures two and three show what was the main entrance to the hospital and the entrance to accident and emergency at the other end was the car park and at that side of the hospital there where large balconies that led off the end of each ward. And this this is where are they would sit the TB patients through the day no matter what the weather because in the Victorian Edwardian days of medicines. They truly believed fresh air was the best treatment /cure. for thus disease. which is why it was more often than not fatal!"
