Reviews of The Collection Hotel Birmingham
"Got here after travelling, booked and paid for a room a 2 weeks before I needed it. Got there to a notice on the door saying that the hotel was closed to Immediate effect. Rang the number on the door they could not help in any way and just said that they are closed and put the phone down."
"Stayed here on a business trip. Check in was ok & the staff were polite. The room looked really nice on entry. (THEN) Diwali celebrations started in the car park where fireworks were let off close to customers cars & I had to move my van to a nearby street. Without getting sleep till the early hours..Blood & lipstick stains over the bed sheets & 1 off the pillows. Dirty splats up the walls. Rooms just need updating with a good tin of paint or 2 !!!!!"
"Arrived for a one night stay on 1st October, reception space was huge, we were able to leave our bags behind the reception (not very safe) while we went shopping and to the spa. Check in was after 2, we got there around 3 and was able to do so. Rooms are awful. Extremely dated with decor, blood marks and stains on the main wall, holes in the walls, holes in the net curtains, the springs in mattress made the beds very uncomfortable. Stains all over the bed runner which was disgusting. Headboard was also ripped and covered in white marks. Not enough cutlery and cups in the room for the amount of people sleeping resulting in me having to do down to reception in my nightwear early morning to grab the extras we needed. There is a bar next to reception but if you don’t mind waiting 30 minutes for a drink then that’s okay. Really pricey too for cans of coke and bottled water. There is an ironing board, iron and hairdryer in the room if needed, little bit of a bonus I suppose. Definitely wouldn’t stay here at again at the price we paid. Could probably find a premier inn or travelodge for the same price and better facilities and cleanliness."
"The way this hotel and its rooms were advertised, was very misleading. I needed accommodation in Birmingham for a forthcoming meeting so I clicked on this one. The pictures seemed perfect so I went ahead with the booking. Once we entered the hotel, it was pretty impressive as the reception area was quite decent. So we checked in which took quite a while and after an approximately two hour drive, I didn't expect a simple process to take that long. I booked two rooms and assumed that they'd locate us within close proximity but we were all so far. The cleaner hadn't finished cleaning and asked if we could come back after twenty minutes. Then she said they made a mistake and took the key to exchange with an available room. It took me a further fifteen minutes trying to figure out where the second room was. It would have helped if there were clear signposts. The whole place had a distinct old smell. However, as soon as I walked into the room, there was an awful urine smell. There were yellow stains on the back of the toilet seat and it seemed it had never been cleaned before. The bathroom floor tiles were wobbly and the grout was coming apart. The cups provided were absolutely tiny!!! I wish I had brought my own mug! The wall where the TV was mounted had stains running from top to bottom and there was no TV signal, no Netflix, absolutely nothing. They only gave a mini pack of biscuits containing three biscuits hahaha. The telephone for contacting customer service was out of order. As we were getting the last bits and pieces together to leave, their Indian cleaner and a male staff member came banging on the door when there was still ten minutes remaining until checkout. I was disgusted at their lack of customer service skills and general etiquettes. I felt that I threw away my money booking this trashy place. I would not recommend Collection Hotel."
"Absolutely disgusting room. 5 of us booked in to a family room. Do not go by pictures on website. 230 a night in commonwealth games this room was the pits. No curtains leading straight on to main road. Beds dirty, bathroom unusable... Vape found in bed.... Sheets dirty..... Dirty towels in piles in corner of room from guests before... Could continue but this really was filth"
