"Phoned Oakswell Health Centre, was 8 in the que over the phone, when l got through to make an appiontment to see the doctors, the receptionist said there is a 3 week wait for an route appiontment, due to lack of Stafff. l have to say this is very poor and they need to sort this out ASP."
"The practice manager at this surgery should be replaced, poor management. The receptionists are not trained to a professional standard. They have no customer skills and don't work efficiently. They are very slow and make admin errors consistently. You can't get an appointment over the phone because the receptionists put everyone on hold into a large queue and then eventually you get cut off after holding for 30mins! What is the practice manager doing about it? Avoid this surgery if you have an alternative choice, the service is terrible."
"Phoned to cancel appointment receptionist was polite and very helpful in offering alternative and also relayed my message to the GP who returned my call later in the day. All staff here are working extremely hard in a changing environment daily and deserve the respect of the public and patients to keep morale up."
"As soon as I arrived at the practice the receptionist said she couldn’t understand me which I initially thought is fair enough with wearing a mask. After waiting half an hour and watching everyone arrive after me be seen I went back to reception to ask how long the wait would be. After watching the receptionist communicate perfectly with multiple parents, majority elderly. I asked how long the wait would be. Again, she was unable to understand me so I had to go to a different window for her to hear me. I was told the doctor knows I’m waiting, I asked if she knew how long I’d have to wait, she said no. I waited an additional ten minutes and went back to reception to rebook my appointment. Where this time both receptionists just stared at me blankly, again unable to understand me. I explained I’ve been waiting forty minutes now. Can you please tell me how much longer? She said no, he might have an emergency. We’ll surely you’d know if he did as you book the patients in! I was then told I can’t rebook now as the Next months diary isn’t out until Monday/Tuesday. I’m absolutely appalled at the customer service I received today. Waiting forty minutes to been seen only to be told they don’t know or he “might” have an emergency. I completely understand why patients would get irate with staff when the behave like this. Fortunately today I did not bring my one and two year old with me. I’d like to add i am British born with English being my first language and didn’t have a sore throat. I conducted myself in a calm manner despite how I was being treated. They like who they like I guess"
"Doctors very good, if you are lucky enough to get by the reception staff. Doctors advise you to call back to follow up you call back at the time requested in the morning only to be told no appointments and to try in the afternoon, you call back and told again no appts and advised to go to waking in or call 111, you call 111 and they advise the GP surgery need to see you. I advised the receptionist i needed to see a GP and was told she could pre book an appt for 3wks time. Avoid this practice as the customer service is so poor I dont think it's all down to the reception staff, but poor practice management who use Covid as an excuse not to provide a service."
