Reviews
"I’m writing this review from my perspective as I don’t have kids and don’t like being around them - no offence to the majority of people that do! This venue will likely be great for young families. And it is very unusual and niche for the area - you’d be expect to find somewhere like this in East Dulwich, Hackney or somewhere else a bit more gentrified. I went this time specifically for the Caterpillar Escape Room game and had booked a table for food/drinks afterwards as menu looked good. Nice to get a welcome drink for playing the escape room game and very friendly staff. The venue has a colourful, vibrant decor. But this is my second time visiting the venue and it’s always full of kids. Not just kids with their parents at tables sitting as families but a gang of them in the corner having a lesson/playtime or something - and they’re loud. If you like chaos, kids and noise you’ll love it but I’m not into nursery environments when I’m out at the weekend. Also, the escape room was a let down. Good idea but I couldn’t follow it - it was too dark in the room, too many people and I got bored. Actors were good though. Had booked a table for after the escape room but it wasn’t cleared for us and needed to get away from the commotion so left for a nearby cocktail bar."
"This Rustic Pub is a Living Art Gallery. but, very disappointed with the atmosphere within. Health and Safety issues. Dirty Stinking Toilets, Wet Floors, etc. A few friendly staff and others who give more importance to their friends. Food and Drinks excellent. DJ's and Entertainment good but not the best. Garden smoking area too small. Very Egile and Friendly Security. Well connected to modes of Transport."
"Compliments to the chef Roberta for this amazing Sunday roast. The food was amazing. The staff were bubbly and friendly and the beer garden is the perfect touch to a sunny warm Sunday afternoon. This is definitely a hidden gem in south east London. The manager Tom has done wonders with the place since taking over ."
"South EAST London at it best. 33 pounds for two beers and two mains. Super value for money. A cheese burger with bacon, stacked with gurkens unions lettuce and a gorgeous sauce burger cooked to perfection. Comes with crispy chips and home made coleslaw. It was all delicious. Fish and chips and peas with sea salt and vinger, generously sized fish with a good portion chips. Another tasty dish. The pub is vast with different seating areas. Children friendly up to about seven when it switches over to evening entertainment, best to check thier website for up to date information as it changes. Overall a solid unqiue pub with funky decor great food well priced food and drinks that puts many an over priced uptown establishment to shame."
"Such a quirky weird place . Really like it! We went for the caterpillar experience which was super surreal but fun. I want to go back to the actual pub which looks great!"
