The Old Brewery
About the Business
Welcome to The Old Brewery, a historic bar and establishment located in the heart of London at The Pepys Building within the Old Royal Naval College. This beautifully restored and refurbished site dates back to the late 17th century and is rich with character and heritage.
The Old Brewery was once the site of the original Greenwich Brewery founded by Sir Humphrey Wyndham in 1698, and over the years, the location has housed a number of notable establishments including a hospital for retired seamen. Today, we are proud to continue this legacy with a modern take on a traditional English pub.
As you enter The Old Brewery, you are greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, with rustic décor and a cozy interior providing a perfect backdrop for a relaxing drink or a hearty meal. Our bar serves a wide selection of locally crafted beers, ales and lagers, as well as an extensive list of wines and spirits. Additionally, we offer a variety of classic British dishes made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients, with options to suit every taste and dietary requirement.
Whether you are looking for a casual drink, a family meal or a night out with friends, The Old Brewery is an ideal point of interest for anyone visiting the Greenwich area. Furthermore, we also provide private event spaces for hire, making it the perfect venue for corporate events, parties, weddings and other celebrations.
Come and experience the rich history and warm hospitality of The Old Brewery. Our team of friendly staff is waiting to welcome you!

"Awesome decor and good food. It's a beautiful pub with a lot of flair and character. Kid friendly and even if busy the staff were ultra nice and accommodating. They have two bathrooms with changing facilities for babies which means, no matter how busy, there's no wait."
"We chose the old brewery to celebrate our wedding back in May. It was the first place we thought of and after visiting a few venues in the area we knew this was definitely the place to use. Tommy, Dawson and all the team really go the extra mile and were so accommodating and helpful. There’s a great friendly vibe amongst all the staff. All of the food was amazing and our guests all agreed, it was especially great how simple amending meals for gluten or dairy issues was. "Lovely pub garden and indoors is also nice. Great atmosphere on a summers day outdoors and it also has heaters for when it gets cold. Staff are brilliant and the service is very good ! Food is ok but all dishes were very salty which was a bit strange. My fish and chips was over salted and unpleasant to eat as was the chicken in my wife’s chicken salad."
"It was a beautiful day, so we stopped here after cycling for a short break and coffee. The surrounding area is peaceful. A lot of outdoor seating and no step access - good wheelchairs and buggy’s. If you sitting on the outer section, you have river views too. WCs are clean and spacious. Table service possible via the QR code on the table. We didn’t eat but the food that came out to other tables looked lovely. Will be back to eat and revisit. Close enough to the hassle and bustle of the main thoroughfare."
"Great place for lunch, and they were very accommodating of a dog and a baby in a pushchair. The sea trout was very delicious, and tenderstem broccoli was fresh and nicely cooked. The fish and chips battered fish comes with the skin on (under the batter) which is a horrible practice, and the pear and blackberry crumble was not good - unfortunately the kitchen had run out of vanilla ice cream which the pudding desperately needed… it seemed to be an overly healthy attempt on a usually delicious pudding - a dark berry compote with a very thin scattering of toasted almond flakes on top. I can’t recommend it. It’s a beautiful location, excellent decor and all the staff very friendly and efficient, and the food overall is very good. This is my second time visiting, and despite a couple of things I didn’t enjoy (mentioned above), I would happily return again."
