"Wanted to grab some food, but the kitchen had some issues that they could not serve food for a while. So I took a cup of tea, which was not amazing, but it may not reflect how the food/drink is here. The place has many seatings. Noisy. Not the coziest place I've been to. Smooth ordering system through a website using the QR code on the table."
"Cozy ambience, great food and amazing choices of alcohol. The staff members are very friendly. If you are up for a cozy dinner of British pub food head to the downstairs seating provides a great atmosphere to have those lovely conversations with friends + traditional pub food"
"I very much enjoyed my visit, hosting a friend from the US for whom I wanted to show some cool local pubs. Great location near the market, nice and airy inside, some lovely old features such as coloured windows. Was busy, but not too busy for a June on a Saturday lunchtime, so was pleased to get a table. Friend's nachos looked nice, big bubbly ones rather than the usual opening a packet of normal shop-bought ones. My cod goujon snack was fine, and I consumed a few pints of crisp Aspall. A very nice boozer."
"Solid corner pub! Nice place to grab a pint after work or just when passing by. Gets busy in pulses, so if there is a line, chill for a few and then you can get right to the front. There is indoor and outside space to sit and prices are reasonable (for the area). They have some snacks, but mostly come for the drinks. Ordered a pint of peroni, a Guinness, and a gin and tonic. All were done well :)"
"The Southwark Tavern (Borough / London Bridge) Another one from back in January, where I'd heard on good authority that this place was not only slinging out @luckysaintbeer but also @bigdropbrewco on draft too. A boozer I used to frequent regularly when working in the area, the occasional craft lines with the likes of Gipsy Hill or Thornbridge made for a decent lunchtime tipple washing down the duck ciabatta as standard. It's an impressive building, dominating the corner of Borough Market, and even on this cold, bright, sunny Sunday, there were ample tourists dawdling about sucking molluscs from their shells. The pub itself was busy, hard to take a photo without anyone in it, and the lady behind the bar stared at me questionably as I tried to subtly pap away. Cosy, with a mix of high tables and shorter ones for sit down meals, the Big Drop Citra was a nice departure from Lucky Saint for this one. It flew down, and as I loaded up the West Ham on my phone, again, everything felt "normal", despite being in peak-ish rona times and not boozing. Operated now by Mitchell and Butler's, there's a consistency to their other venues, but this one is surely one of the nicest. History tidbits they quote online; "Dating back to the 1800s, The Southwark Tavern is steeped in history, housed in what used to be a debtors prison with old cells now transformed into snug booths." Despite being a tourist hotspot, there are some nice pubs around here worthy of your attention. This is one of them."
