"I have to say this is a fairly exemplary pub which is all the more striking given it largely serves as a station pub. The decor is traditonal but still clearly exists in the modern era and will have survived many refurbs whislt still retaining the ambiance of a gritty station pub. I particularly like the carpet and the furniture along with the snooker being played. Also being a lone-standing Tudor I find it a real gem. The lighting was also very tasteful and had a nice natural darkness. This was accentuated by the nice tinsel and Christmas tree. The staff were particularly pleasant and add to the pub. Nice selection of Greene King cask ales too."
