"No longer an English-oriented pub. More like a Greek restaurant. Which wouldn't be a problem if that was advertised on their website and social media channels. Poor music taste, poor service, a menu that doesn't match the place and food that's just average. Such a shame, it used to be a great pub and now it's just a mash up that doesn't deliver the best of anything."

"Went in for Sunday lunch today since re-opening with new owners. They are still settling in however the staff are friendly and the food was very good, a proper Sunday pub lunch…half a (large) chicken, crispy roast potatoes, savoy cabbage, carrots, puréed squash, cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. Go check it out!"

"We go to the Woodman regularly for drinks but last Sunday we decides to try their Sunday roast, as we had family visiting. We tried every plate on the menu and they didn't disappoint. Portions are generous, food was well cooked and well presented. Service was pretty fast considering how busy they were. Will definitely eat again."

"Fantastic food, shocking service. Sat in our reserved table for 15 minutes before anyone asked if we'd like a drink. When the food (Sunday roast) did arrive it was excellent. But they didn't ask us how it was, if we'd like condiments, and they got our drinks order wrong. I can let it slip when they're extremely busy, but we sat there watching the staff chat amongst themselves whilst we waited for someone to take our order. The waitress took my plate away whilst my partner was still eating, then left her empty plate on the table for 20 minutes before asking if we'd like dessert. Such a shame that great food is let down by amateur service."

"Probably the best pub meal I’ve had in years. The steaks were cooked to perfection, the lamb was the best my Son has ever eaten and all the meals my family ate.. were amazing. The staff were attentive and we really couldn’t praise our visit here highly enough. Thoroughly recommend a visit here."
