Reviews of The World's End
"Used to visit this place quite frequently back in the day and remembered the food being half-decent, so popped in as was passing and got the "chicken" club sandwich. Trace elements of chicken in the mayo, under brown/grey bacon and three slices of Chorleywood bread. About an inch and a half of the sandwich contained nothing but bread (see photo). The avo and tomato was fresh, I guess. Predictably it gave me a bad stomach which I then had for over 24 hours. Barman was miserable (all he did was grunt at me) and disinterested in anything other than staring at his phone. When I took my glass up and ordered another beer, he just grabbed my dirty glass, refilled that, then grunted again. Depressing experience all round (except for the playlist - the music was good - and the beer was well kept). It's still a decent drinking pub, but goes without saying I won't be back for a while."
"Bad experience. Ordered the "sticky toffee pudding, butterscotch, maple pecans, clotted cream ice cream". The pudding was cold, there was no butterscotch sauce and there were no maple pecans. We asked about it to the bartender who said he would ask the kitchen and we did not hear back. Ordered a single whiskey, admittedly I forgot to specify no ice, however it is expected that a bartender would ask particularly for whisky. The bartender poured and added ice, I then asked to have it without ice and the bartender proceeds to only pick out the ice and serve the drink."
"Beautiful venue with plenty of seating options. They've got large screens for those who like to watch sports. Great beer selection, clean premises including lavatories being in good shape. All staff members were lovely, we will definitely come again. Couldn't resist taking a photo of that stunning ceiling of the largest room with the stage."
