Reviews of The Moon on the Hill - JD Wetherspoon
"Lovely pub over two levels with a small beer garden out the back from the upper level and to the side of the lower level. The usual seating options available and everything was clean and tidy. The staff were lovely as was the breakfast. Afterwards, the Guinness was also proven to be excellent. Lots of interesting tree men throughout the pub - not sure why"
"Not been for breakfast in a weatherspoons for quite some time and all I can day is wow its gone downhill. Asked for kids pancakes turned up plain no fruit or syrup had to ask for fruit which is described on the kids menu. Then also had to ask for some syrup to help them actually want to eat them I know it's cheap but come on how can you get pancakes that wrong. The large breakfast arrived cold for both of us to be honest I ate it as we were very hungry and had not eaten since the night before. Its not a hard thing to get right mushrooms were missing toast had been sitting fir I don't know how long and the bacon was as tough as an old boot. Sausage had decent flavor but again stone cold as to were the eggs. Again I know it's cheap but still your food should arrive warm not stone cold. Ran out of milk for the teas whilst we were there and had to wait ages for it to be refilled. We used to enjoy going for a weatherspoons breakfast in the morning but now disappointingly we won't be returning for some time. 3x kids breakfast pancakes all went uneaten and we both only managed just over half before we couldn't stomach anymore. A real shame as used to be great."
"Visited 9/10/22 & had chicken breast in batter served with sticky soy sauce, coleslaw & a choice of spicy rice or chips, all of which was served quite soon after ordering. Truly enjoyed it & highly recommend. Visited 23/04/22 for a drink with family member. Bar assistant really friendly. Found table easily despite being quite busy. Paid tapping card on device. (Pub has an upper level towards rear with several booths for family/friend groups, along with doors leading to a beer garden; outside seating also available at front of pub. Toilets also on upper level on right-hand side. Hot & cold snacks & meals available. Part of Weatherspoons group."
"Spoons is Spoons.... That said , staff were really friendly, quick service with a smile. Even kicking out time the guy was all smiles. Let down with the sticky table, the smell as well as the fact they don't sell draft Heineken or Kronenburg here. Food was actually pretty good no thrills 3 for £12 but tasted decent. The spoons app is of course a bonus and the service from that was also very quick. Arguably the cheapest pub in the UK."
