"Wonderful service, the prawn starter was alright, but the scotch egg was delicious, we all had roast pork which was well done, the roast potatoes were crispy and fluffy, the pork itself melted in the mouth, vegetables done to perfection, all in all a wonderful roast dinner. I had chocolate pudding which was lovely, and I was also bought extra custard, the sticky toffee pudding was stunning too, all in all a nice Sunday roast, a bit on the expensive side though. Make sure that you have enough money as it will average about £70 for a starter main dessert and a bottle of wine."
"We visited for Sunday lunch with family. This is a great pub with super friendly staff who make you feel more than welcome. We were looking a bit tight on our table and without prompting they offered us a bigger one. They don't just have a creche they have a craft creche so our associated 5 yrs old was able to make a mask and a pirate picture/telescope in between joining us for lunch and drinks. Oh and among other quality drinks they sell Sea Cider, not the Blood Orange variety but nevertheless a delicious tipple I recommend you try if you visit. The food was perfectly delicious my chicken leg was probably the best cooked chicken I've had in such an establishment this year. Soft tender and perfectly cooked, arrayed on a huge mound of well cooked veg with a huge dollop of the finest bread sauce I've ever had (Don't tell my Mum I said that). Everyone else enjoyed their grub too even the 12 week old baby although she was breast feeding so perhaps that was more of a sure thing. I highly recommend this den of luncheons although it's excellence is clearly no secret as there were would be diners who could not get a table and left sad and unreplenished. I recommend booking, bribing or otherwise ensuring your seat before heading along there."
"Great pub! Best Sunday roast in the area! Great service. They have lovely area for children every Sunday where are 2 lovely ladies playing with kids 3+. We would definitely come back."
"Raw meat avoid. RAW PORK SHAMBOLIC! Served my 3 year old raw beef, asked for it to be put back on the grill and it came out raw again. Tried the meat and it tasted like metal, looked and tasted like it was left on a radiator. My pork was also raw. Did not realise till I brought it home. It was completely pink with blood spots. Are you trying to kill people alliance? You do not serve pork pink ever. Absolutely shambolic. On top of this the trimmings were soggy and lacked seasoning or flavour. For £22 a meal not including drinks I am so disappointed. Wetherspoons has better food."
"Was a regular before the change of ownership and pleased to see it back in action after the refurb. Great craft beer selection, varied wine list and delicious food (had the sea bass and various veggie sides). Prices have nudged up - but the food quality matches this. Thankfully the background music is the right level so you can actually have a conversation though the lighting could be raised a touch in the evening. The staff are fantastic and friendly - great pub!"
