"Beautiful pub. We were in a lovely private room. We had the Christmas menu but the normal non-Christmas Sunday roast option looked much better and came with a Yorkshire pub. Service was fine but the main person made us feel like it was our fault and an inconvenience that they'd incorrectly accepted our booking for a Sunday."

"We were here for Christmas lunch. The food was good but it felt chaotic. We had a table from 3 to 5:30. We arrived at 3:10 and were seated at around 3:30. We were given the first course at 4:15 and had to keep looking for someone to take our drinks order on several occasions. Our young child was already fed up at this point and we hadn't even eaten the main course. We ended up ordering dessert at 5:15 and we were all tired at this point and just wanted to leave, so we just rushed through them. I did ask one of the staff members if it had been a difficult day for them and they said that not really. So I guess it was just poor organisation? Oh one other positive thing is that Fiona was brilliant, always super nice and very helpful."

"I attended this pub on 02/10/22 we were a table of 8. We had reserved a table to have Sunday roast. Many of us were looking forward to it but after being seated a staff member we were told that there was no more beef. This was a major disappointment as we came for beef or poultry options. We decided to leave the venue because of the limited options, but a manager informed us that there was beef but it was being “prepared”. The staff were obviously not communicating effectively. We returned to our table and waited for a waiter to take our order, as we were told we would be seen to. All together, we waited 30 cold minutes before we had our orders taken. Apparently if you are seated outside you have to order at the bar. Another miscommunication by the staff member who told us we would be attended to. Further to this, we waited such a long time just to be served our simple starter of bread and olives, which were tasty. Eventually our mains came, despite the waiter insisting that the beef was almost ready, we waited to get our portions after 40 minutes. The roast isn’t the same anymore. It’s not as flavourful, even though the range is so limited. They even brought out the wrong dish even though we specifically asked for no pork. What a shambles. Would not return, the quality has reduced, staff were friendly but disjointed in their messages to customers, the range is very limited with no positive impact and I believe the beers are quite pricy."

"Wonderful place for a delicious Sunday roast. First, the waitress was super nice and gave us a few tips about all discounts available that day. I ordered the roast beef. The meat was excellent and tender, the vegetables cooked to perfection. Very tasty. The portion were quite generous. For the dessert, we all had the chocolate brownie and ice cream. Top experience. The pub is also clean, just perfect."
