"Daughter booked a surprise treat for Mother's Day... arrived an hour early (2pm) staff kindly showed us to our table, I ordered drinks and enjoyed the Toffee Ale, it's was during my second drinks order I decided to order nachos, I tried to order but they'd run out, my daughter mentioned she overheard another customer say the pub had run out of food/didn't have much left....whilst at the bar I asked what they had...the answer was Burgers, Fish & Chips and Scampi. The reason given was two fold, they had two large groups in earlier and had run out of food and that the pub was in-between menu's and was running food stocks down, the staff could see we were disappointed and gave us a free round of drinks but after that we decided to leave, yes we were disappointed as it was on Mother's Day of all day's, the food problems should have been mentioned sooner than me having to ask."
"This pub was a disappointment just after Covid....but as part of the Greene King chain, it was subject to the brand insistence of downloading the app and booking. The beauty of this space is location. Whatever the time of year, the views over to Eel Pie are stunning and part of the joys of Twickenham. It it here, and The Green that make this environment. The rest is distinctly chavvy and/or smug. Here....just enjoy the beauty."
"Without a shadow of a doubt, the WORST roast dinner I've ever seen or eaten... I actually chuckled when it was delivered to my table. It looked like they'd fished the meat out of the bin and the Yorkshire pudding was more like a pancake. I genuinely didn't really know what to make of it. Guest ale was nice and the location was OK. The lemonade with lime was £3.50.... I've honestly been to some of Earth's most remote places and I've never seen a lack of care in their food as this. The two stars are because it was almost comedic and I want other people to not be put off enough to go and see it for themselves. This is a rugby pub... I can't imagine anyone associated with that sport could have mustered up any of the strength necessary to play that game, eating this garb."
"Met some friends for a day out by the river at this amazing place. Barmy Arns were hosting the Eel Pie Club Rhythm & Blues gig. It was an utterly brilliant and memorable day with friends in the sun. I highly recommend this amazing musical institution."
"We sat outdoors facing the view of the river and Eel pie island. It was reasonably busy, ordered a couple of toasties which i think was pretty pricey. But waited a while for them. Bless the girl that was working there she literally had to take order at the bar, bring the food out and clear the tables."
