"On the banks of the Thames, with great views and a fantastic bar and restaurant. The food here is very good. Be aware, during the winter months and after heavy rain the height of the Thames can exceed the banks, so some local flooding may occur."
"The kitchen staff are not trained here. We have now had two bad meals here arguably the first time was a few years ago on Christmas day and you would of thought there would of been some changes. However Last Friday we got some food here for a birthday meal and my mum ordered the buttermilk chicken burger. After taking the first bit she realised the burger was totally raw. She told the bar staff who completely agreed it was raw and gave her money back and offered her a pudding which she kindly refused."
"Just popped in for lunch - party of four. The Hophead ale superb as always. Fish & chips and crab burger decent. Two of us chose sandwiches (one coronation chicken, one fish finger) which were not great - the bread was dry on the outside - obviously cut many hours before, if not yesterday. The thin scraping of coronation sauce didn’t contain any convincing evidence of actual chicken, so a bit pricey at £9+. As always, I compare with the Three Horseshoes a couple of miles away - they offer similar sandwiches/wraps at similar prices, but always perfectly made, and gorgeous. Hence, always rammed to the rafters, whereas Swan more or less empty. Different gravy."
"Fabulous find. The setting is beautiful and the building is quirky and cosy. The fudge, toiletries and coffees/teas are a lovely touch in the room A big thank you to Roberto(?) for his attentive service. Highly recommend"
"In reply to the Managers comment on my 4 stars, rather than 5 stars. The customer service at the point of reservation was excellent. The service at the table and food was very good. The one thing that stopped me giving 5 stars was the (I assume) mandatory service charge of 12.5%. I normally always give a tip of about 10% but I prefer the freedom to decide what I want to give. Even if voluntary I do not want to go through the embarrassing process of asking for the service charge to be amended. To be honest, this 12.5% service charge would put me off returning as what would I do if I got poor service? Food and drink in restaurants is now very expensive in relative terms given the current cost of living increases. Add a mandatory service charge like this and it could put people off returning or even going in the first place. Food for thought re getting my 5 stars."
