"We went here with family while enjoying a visit to York four our daughter’s fourth birthday. The four children in our group painted ceramics they had chosen themselves and they had a great time. The adults enjoyed themselves, too. Prices start from £12, which is for a tile, and there is a wide range of designs to choose. Prices include ceramic, paints, brushes, water, stamps, pens, glazing and delivery. Aprons are also available at no extra cost. You can also buy hot drinks, pop and nibbles. We were there for two hours. They also do adults- only sessions, but adults can visit without children at anytime. A fun and relaxing visit with friendly staff."

"Set a couple of hours aside for a peaceful enjoyable experience. Every year the kids are excited when we visit Rainbow Ceramics because they enjoy painting new things for their rooms. The anticipation of waiting a week to get them back after being fired in the kiln is equally exciting. It’s amazing to see how vibrant the colours are when they’re glazed. Don’t think Rainbow is just for kids - it’s not. A great place to make something bespoke for the home, many adults frequent the shop to build a collection. It’s not cheap, but for what you get it’s well worth it. Just remember that you have to wait a week for the end product. Not staying in York? - they’ll post it for you (at your cost)."

"I've been going here regularly since I was a uni student and I'm 27 now! I adore anything creative and love pottery painting anyway but Rainbows has always been extra special to me. I'm someone who struggles with anxiety, mental health issues and sensory issues and I've always found Rainbows to be so lovely and welcoming. It's always a place I've felt safe and comfortable and I never feel too overwhelmed. I feel like they are always supportive, accommodating and friendly and this atmosphere really makes the experience. I forever love going here and always enjoy the range of things that they have on offer to paint. I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful place so close to me. Also- there are always cute dogs chilling out (staff member's dogs) which is deffo a plus- please see the photo for proof!"
