Taxis Northwich - GM Travel

"I ordered a taxi for 7.00pm two weeks in advance and received a text confirmation. At 7.10 I called to find out where my taxi was. An automated message told me I had a taxi booked. When I then spoke to representative they told me it was 5 minutes away. Ten minutes later I called them again. They said they’d speak to the driver and then cut the call. I called them again and this time they told me the taxi was in the next village and on its way and that they were very busy. At 7.30 and still with no taxi in sight I called them again and was told it was 1-2 minutes away. It finally turned up at 7.43. So, if when you book a taxi you really don’t care whether it turns up on time or not then GM Travel is fine. However, if you need a taxi to catch a plane, or a train, or (like us) you have a restaurant booked, you might want to consider a different taxi company."

"Booked two taxis for a wedding. For the outbound journey the taxi arrived late and at the wrong pick up point. We were told they’d overbooked and we had to share with strangers. Not a problem but not professional. On the return, the taxi did not show up. This was at midnight at the end of a wedding. We were left stranded in the middle of nowhere. Extremely poor service and unreliable. Don’t answer the phone. Avoid."

"Booked for Saturday night and the booking agent was clear, precise and very polite in his agenda. The taxi arrived on time and the driver was extremely pleasant and talkative. His driving was excellent. Our return taxi also arrived on time and conveyed us home very safely. The return driver was not so talkative but it was late night so he may have been all talked out. Return journey was more expensive than the first and was told increased fare was because of the time of night??? 11.15pm?? Our previous experience was fares went higher after midnight?? All in all, a pleasant experience and we will use this company again."
