"3.5 stars - good food, decent selection of things on offer - when they've got them. Turned up at 1pm on a Saturday and got the last jacket potato of the day. Food is tasty, but given that it's in a greenhouse, it's incredibly loud and clattery in here. If you're looking for a quiet lunch, sit outside. Not sure about other days, but it closes at 3.30 on a Saturday - we believed Google and turned up at 3.28 to just see the staff flipping the sign to close. Given that the Palace itself doesn't close until 4, this seems like a great way to not make money. Its a shame because the food is nice, the service is good, and the staff are friendly."
"Although not large (for a former Palace) these garden are very well managed to change through the seasons. Only a small area is formal but the remainder is well landscaped around the half moat which fronts the Palace. With English Heritage membership season visits are cost free."
"Absolutely stunning place to visit! Such elegance, lovely cafe, staff are so helpful and friendly. Lots for the children to do as well"
"It's OK some cakes are on tables to help yourself , thay are displayed with out a cover l would not buy them . My bill had the correct number of items but not what l purchased. The staff may be all volunteers. Coffee was excellent. We feed the fish in the moat with pond pellets . The house is well worth a visit ENGLISH HERITAGE do a fantastic job"
