"Amazing cafe, great little play space downstairs and they were so lovely with our little ones, had proper cups and cutlery for kids which was great. So nice to not have to sacrifice amazing coffee and food for a place that also entertains your kids! I’ll be back :)"
"A fantastic little café that brings a friendly, bohemian vibe to Sydenham. The atmosphere is warm and quirky without being alienating, the food is delicious and manages to be simple without being simplistic but, crucially, the coffee is great. This would ordinarily be enough to tip it into the five-star category for me, but the winning factor for me is the staff. They are absolutely lovely; attentive, friendly, and accommodating. I've been to plenty of cafés where the staff have glared at me with thinly-veiled resentment as they have to stop scrolling on their phones to sell me a coffee — if you want to experience the polar opposite, you'll find it at The Moustache. I've not even mentioned the great gluten-free options, plenty of baked goods and homemade chutney to purchase, and a good beer selection, if you end up staying longer than you expected. There's plenty of seating downstairs too — don't be fooled looking in through the window at street-level. I can't believe I found this place right on my doorstep — I will be back!"
"One of the favourite cafes in Sydenham. Perfect for a brunch or a piece of delicious gluten-free orange almond cake. Plus nice staff, very quirky decor and community events. Don’t miss this wonderful cafe."
"You know when you have been searching for something and places just dont seem to tick all the boxes, well...I found my place. Close to home and secretive enough for me. As much as I want to see this place busy, i love how it does have its serenity. I found "The Moustache" by chance and so happy I did of course. on entry you'll step in and be like "aaaah", it instantly feels cosy, has a rustic theme to it with odd chair sets and tables, bare wood flooring and exposed brick work. As this place is owned by an Artist, you will see art work which is for sale on the walls. Music played in the background is a perfect volume and old school jazz music. It feels a bit like a step back in time when youre hear. I find it hard to leave when I have the intention to stay just for a short while...oh well. Coffee is well made with a good coffee bean, not the fruity stuff but good proper coffee. homemade cakes, which I found to die for! is it wierd I had it with a beer. yes they serve beer, bottled, canned (Brixton Brewery/Ignition Brewery) and on tap too (Electric IPA). As well as Prosecco, wine, red or white and gin. Food menu is seriously tasty. Might sound the same as options you get in other places but its done really well. Theres a morning to afternoon menu and then one for the evening. Ive had poached eggs with chorizo slices, on sourdough toast and smashed avacado. Presentation was on point and very artistic, portion size is great and and tastes all amazing! not exaggerating. Also had a butternut squash and ginger soup thats served with toast. Carrot cake!!!! too good and finished my afternoon off with a cheeseboard for two hahaha but it was just for me. This cheese board is like no other. Homemade crackers, chilli oil, olives, garnishing, chorizo, cheese and a few interesting dips to really spoil you. see photos for proof. You'll enjoy your experience! They have a baby buggy parking railing outside, play room downstairs for kids, unisex toilet. Once a month they have a film club on with projector screen, havent tried it myself yet but will do. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have. Definitely a returning customer!!!! you wil get lost with time in here if you have a book."
