"Very disappointing experience: today l entered the oxford house and asked to the lady behind the counter if l could leave some business cards on their table neat the other leaflets displayed. This person said it was not possible because that table was only for internals that use the Oxford House premises. Hence that lady asked me if l wanted to rent a space there? l said "l'm not here for renting, l am here only for offering a service, l just want to leave my business cards on that table, they're small and don't take much space". Her answer was NO again and for the same reason. So, l went to check the other leaflets on the table, surprisingly they advertised businesses that lead to a business address different from Oxford house: hence l showed them to her, a lady - she's on her 30's muslim. l asked her clarification but she was unclear and stammered. l said:"So, you don't welcome people here from outside or the reason is bcs my skin is white and my religion is different from yours ? Although, l am local, l live here nearby I told her and l do not understand why you treat me that nasty way?". This person turned very unpleasant and looked at me badly. Therefore l notified her that the flyers on the table display any other business and not related with oxford house. This lady said that my cards would have ended on the bin. That was enough! l asked her name and she refused. l told her that her attitude was racist and discriminating based on religion. l am not surprised in a city like London there are still such racists individuals. ln London there is a strong Christian and white-fobia. That is shameful."
"Lovely cafe but also amazing local space with music event, exhibitions etc. Off the Main Street worth having a look as they also have a great setup outdoor when weather is nice"
"Love this place! Only recently discovered it but a real gem especially on a sunny day with a lovely seating area under the tree canopy and within the new beautiful pocket park. Great food and coffee too!"
"Lovely little cafe, just off Bethnal Green Road and facing out onto Weavers Fields. Lovely light airy and calm feeling to the place. They've just put seating outside, which is great when the sun is shining. Great coffee, lovely sarnies and some nice treats. Staff are super friendly too."
