"I recently used this establishment for my annual MOT and required repairs which the mechanic said needed correcting. I left the car with the mechanic after speaking to him about the work that needed to be fixed. The conversation was civil he explained and showed me the faults and told me the costs of the parts. Few hours past and I received a phone call asking me to pick up the car, the repairs have been completed. I went and paid for the repairs and expressed my appreciation and showed gratitude for the work. I then took the car home which is a brief 2 minute drive from the garage and put it on the driveway. The next time I used the car which was on the Saturday a day after the repairs were done I noticed a 10cm crack in the zone b drivers side bottom corner of my windscreen. I did a brief basic check before taking the car in for the MOT checking the fluids, wipers, horn, tyre depth, flicked the hazards on and fully inspected both screens and no cracks were present on inspection. The car went through the MOT without mentioning any impairments to the screen. The law states If there is damage of 40mm in size, anywhere on the windscreen, your vehicle will fail its MOT. I went and seen the mechanic in person and explained the issue, he instantly refuted any chance the damaged could have been done by himself accidentally or in a malicious manor. I asked why didn't you see the damage to the screen while doing the MOT if the screen was already damaged when I brought the car in, he said it's not a fail or advisory. I knew instantly that something was sinister either negligence during the MOT or the damage was done during repairs. The law states a crack larger than 40mm anywhere on the screen is a mot fail. I tried negotiating but I was gaining no ground just petty outlandish excuses. I personally don't make arbitrary decisions but I was finding myself getting irritated by the situation since he was constantly changing the narrative of the conversation so I defused the situation and left. I will now need to go through my insurance to get the issue fixed. It seems they're friendly when they want your money but if anything goes wrong they instantly shut you down and refute any chance of wrong doing. Since I have lost trust and confidence using your services, I will have no choice but to discontinue my custom with your business. My friends and family will also be doing the same."
