"Having failed my m.o.t I got a quote for repairs - the cost for parts was £202-55. They are now owned by HALFORDS, and my mot says Halfords Autocentres. I checked Halfords on line price and it was £69-97. I also checked Europarts (whom I am led to believe they get their parts from) Europarts price was £109-98. I pointed this out to them, but wasn,t offered amended price. I didn,t feel the part they failed was bad, so went to another garage for mot and it was passed. I won't be going anywhere near National Tyres or Halfords any more, and will be making my friends etc. aware of my experience. I informed Halfords Autocentres on-line, but am afraid they didn,t/couldn,t explain why this was,in fact, they evaded the question entirely, this was the answer I got :- Please provide a screenshot or copy of the competitor quotation, please also stick to the price match guidelines or we cannot assist you further."
"Booked my car in for tracking and got told they couldn't do it as the track rod ends were both seized and would need the gas bottles on them to warm them up which they didn't have at the time. I had replaced the O/S track rod arm and end the weekend before so that one wasn't seized. So I took it home and got a spanner on the nut, that came right off with bearly any effort and the arm started turning with no effort whatsoever. Spoke to Halfords and got a full refund. Either they don't know what they are doing or they are trying to rip people off but I ain't going back to find out. I Definitely wouldn't trust them with oxy acetylene anyway I'd have no car left"
"Booked slot for 2 o'clock, for checks that are 30 minutes. When I went there I was told it will take 2-3 hours, because they had a lot of work. In short wasted my time and better slot managing next time"
"I have used tyre shopper/National tyres for many years and can honestly say that they have not only been the cheapest for my tyres, but have never had my alloys scratched or damaged in anyway, unlike some other fitting centers. This is one of the main reasons I use them. I have also made use of their free mobile fitting service on a few occasions, which is also very good. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM. New tyres recently fitted to Hyundai i30 and Mazda 2"
