"Changing an indicator light bulb on a Renault Clio. I'm a pensioner who suffers from arthritis and I know that it is impossible for me to change a headlight bulb on my car as it's too fiddly. Assuming that the indicator bulb would present a similar problem I agreed to the quoted charge of £9 to carry out the task. An extremely polite young man after opening the bonnet apologised before starting, I asked why he was apologising and then realised it was for the exorbitant charge for carrying out what was a simple operation. Within 5 minutes he had walked from the shop to the car, opened the bonnet, replaced the bulb and was on his way back obviously feeling embarrassed by the charge. Sorry Halfords but you are definitely off my list of people to go to and fancy charging prices that make your staff feel uncomfortable charging"
