Reviews of Co-op Academy Broadhurst
"Earlier reviews by historical pupils do not do this school justice. I see evidence of it's supportive, inclusive environment to promote learning both as a parent and newly appointed Governor. Progress is celebrated for all Children, for personal, sporting, creative and academic achievements in equal measure. Incorporating the Co-Op academies Trust will bring many future opportunities to this school which is already rated as 'Ofstead good with outstanding in Early Years.'"
"I attended this school from 2006/7-2016 during my time at Broadhurst I noticed a lack of teaching and pastoral care. In every class there is always a favourite and in my class it always just happened to be one of the teaching assistance children. Parents views are not listened to and the head teacher seems to 'always know best'. In my later years at Broadhurst, I and my family had noticed the lack of child support given by the school. From my experience, never contact this school about any family issues or private problems, they give almost zero support and help and seem to always take it one sided. The school is very hypocritical (especially about healthy eating). During my time there the school tried to promote healthy eating by banning certain food items, changing food for those on school meals and doing more sports. Eventhough this sounds like something that needs to be done, the staff of the school are over weight and did not take part in any way, shape or form of what the pupils had to do. My younger sister now attends this school, and she has noticed how nothing has changed. I have no clue how this school has been allowed to stay running. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE!"
"Wouldn't rlly recommend this school seen as I went there myself, could be more hygienic seen as the dinner half pe hall and assembly hall is all the same hall. Only a good few teachers who are good but it's not a terrible place just a few things that could be improved"
"I have 2 children attending Broadhurst currently and they are both very happy. This school stands out for me because of the way they celebrate the children's achievements, whether that be in or outside of school, being able to share the pride with other parents and the children at celebration assembly is fantastic. The topics they have done have almost always been thoroughly enjoyed and i love how excited they get explaining to me what they have learnt during the week. I've felt the school as a whole to be friendly and approachable, and issues that i have raised have always been dealt with in a professional and fair way. There is issues with inconsiderate taxis and parents parking, but i don't think this is only a problem at this school. There has been issues with information from school being passed on to parents, sometimes the fault of the school, sometimes the children, but the school listened to us and it is currently being addressed. Being able to discuss matters with other parents and the head teacher weekly at 'coffee and chat' helps air any issues i may have, and be more knowledgeable about whats happening in school, and helps my children to feel proud of me for wanting to be interested and involved in their education."
"Definitely a terrible school I went there for one year in yr6. I never once enjoyed it and the pe hall is the assembly hall and the dinner hall . How unhygienic . It's just disgusting and there is favouritism between the students and their is definitely discrimination . Pe is one of my favourite subjects and in that school I never enjoyed it always rounders rounders rounders"
