Reviews of Reef Bar & Terrace Wigan
"My friend got spiked in reef on Boxing Day. The bouncers and lady in charge were horrible to us and would not help us at all. We had her on the floor on the street until an ambulance came. Horrible people."
"Looked nice so went in got the stamps with friends all was fine until we went out to the terrace, as we asked the staff where we could smoke and they pointed to the terrace, as we were going back in they said £2.50 each! For what? To hang your coat back on! This should give you the idea about the place."
"WOW, what a shambolic bar this is. We booked 2 tables of 6 inside for England vs Ukraine on Saturday evening. We arrived well on time for our booking only to be given tables outside which only had one screen for the game, which was why we wanted indoor tables which were clearly given away for some reason... one of my friends had to sit on a table with strangers as there wasn't enough space for 6 people. The bar staff were helpful and brought our drinks with no hassle at all and were polite about it. The door staff and the owner were completely arrogant however. The projector needed to be covered with a brolly as it had started to rain (another reason why we booked tables INSIDE). The brolly was placed over the projector with the handle swinging from side to side which completely blocked the view of the football. We politely asked them to just to move the handle over the wire next to the projector so it would not block the view for people watching the game and the owner angrily shouted "I DON'T HAVE A F*****G PAIR OF SCISSORS" (in relation to the string on the handle obstructing the view), which was not what we asked for. Eventually one of my friends moved the handle over the wire himself so the screen was not obstructed. Two of my friends were thrown out of the venue when England scored goals just for standing up and cheering, and then with force pushed them around, which was completely uncalled for. Again, numerous groups of people in the venue were extremely annoyed with how arrogant the door staff were with people for no reason. I understand that there are restrictions in place but the attitude they had and the force these people used was completely uncalled for. Would not recommend going unless you want to leave angry and disappointed after being treated like animals rather than customers."
"Great DJ, music selection was great, sounds brilliant, very busy, great for a Saturday night."
