Reviews of The Hide Coffee House & Cafe
"The 1 star reviews are extremely harsh! The staff are extremely accommodating and the car park is nothing to do with the cafe workers! My son and I both have intolerances and nothing is too much trouble. They always make a fuss of the children and dogs that come into to cafe and although, yes it isn’t as cheap as the butty vans, I’d argue that they meet dietary needs and will make any adaptations they can. I had a coffee one time and I wasn’t 100% happy with it, the staff were extremely apologetic and rectified it immediately asking if there was any further suggestions to improve the next time (I have diary free milk which reacts differently to cow milk when heated). The food has always been very tasty and the coffee is fantastic! We go every single time we visit!"
"Such a shame, we were really looking forward to this opening, but we won’t be back in a hurry, would rather the hot food truck and ice cream van come back and that’s saying something! It’s horrendously over priced for inedible food, reheated and dehydrated bacon barm and a completely inedible £6.45 ham and cheese sourdough toastie, more expensive than anywhere else, it’s London/ service station prices for everything. They’ve got this place seriously wrong especially for the local community in so many ways, when you look at Pennington park compared to this place as well. Take a flask and sandwiches instead. Shame because it could be a nice day out and decent place to take visitors but won’t be doing that now. Hope they change it in terms of menu/ food, prices and organisation before the play area is built"
"Went on a cold non school day and the cafe was already full. Tried twice. Very poorly thought out re parking. Can no longer pay in advance via phone, so the management decided people parking should walk and queue for a parking ticket at the cafe, then walk back to the car to place the ticket £1.50, just to go back for a coffee, then zero inside seats. The staff are lovely, but pulled out non-stop and people leaving because the place is cramped and basically unusable."
"Lovely coffee house, and friendly staff. Like the cashless due to not wanting to carry purse when out with kids. Busy but thats to be expected on opening weekend. Great addition to the Flash and can't wait for the play area."
"Visited today, had a coffee, the cakes look good. Love the menu, treats for dogs too. Great view over the Flash whilst you enjoy your eats/drinks. Inside and outside seating area. Pleasant staff, doing a great job on the first day its open. Well done all involved."
