Reviews of Wild Place Project
"Such a wonderful place! The animals all look well cared for and enriched. There is lots of really interesting information/talks and the volunteers that we came across were all both really friendly and well informed - they were all only too happy to talk with you and they really knew their stuff!! There were lots of really great little areas to stop and learn more - perfect for children too. We will definitely be back throughout the different seasons to see how all the animals, and their environments, change and adapt. This is an absolute gem of a place!"
"We all had a lovely time. The animals all looked so healthy, which was great to see. They had so much open space to roam around. Well laid out grounds, with lots of picnic areas. Prices in cafe and shop were a bit steep, so glad we took our own food."
"The Wild Place is fantastic. This is what a modern "zoo" should look like. Walking around a natural environment and seeing animals in those habitats is so much more interesting than concrete zoos with sad looking animals. The animals I saw (Bears and Lynx in particular) were playing around with loads of space and were happy. But viewers could easily see them - it's perfectly designed. Loads to see and really worth the trip."
"Absolutely loved it! We took the public transport and it's an easy well paved walk from the retail park to the Wild Place. The layout could be a bit confusing at times but we still saw all the animals. The keepers were lovely and helped point out where animals were in the enclosure and were knowledgeable about the animals in their care. I imagine it will only get better when it combines with Bristol Zoo in 2024."
"Went for a day out with a friend. It's a nice place, which makes use of its space well. I particularly enjoyed the bear wood (with a walkway through a forest at height), and the option of getting close to the lemurs. The talks were informative and engaging. It felt like it would be a good place to visit with younger children. The café was OK, though the mains selection was limited, the rocky road was fantastic and it was nice to see a limited number of vegan options for ice cream (and some sandwiches)."
