"I spent £110 having my Barker shoes refurbished and they sent them back with a loose nail inside them. I discovered this when it stuck right into my foot. I emailed Barker to explain what happened and after some back and forth they refunded the cost and sent me a voucher for a discount on some new shoes. Overall a fair resolution I think."

Clearly they're not going to last long if I can't even try them on in the shop without destroying them! I also wasn't particularly impressed with the quality of the leather, given the price."

"I have several pairs of Barker shoes - I believe the quality of the product is good and well priced. However the staff are terrible. Getting the woman out from behind the counter to actually talk to the customers about their shoes can be tricky sometimes. As another review noted, it's a good idea to know the sole you're looking for when you go in. Most seem to be leather so shouldn't be worn every day or in the wet."

"I read the other reviews here and feared the worst. In the end I was served by an extremely helpful, friendly, knowledgable and very personable Italian woman who made me feel as if she actually wanted to help and was there to make sure you got something you really wanted, as opposed to just getting your money and hope you leave as quickly as possible. I’ve visited 3 branches in total and all of them have negative feedback, but I’ve never had anything too bad, after the experience here, if I never read reviews I would have thought Barker sales people were amongst the best. I guess it’s more a fact that it’s down to the random person you happen to get served by. Some people might be rude and some aren’t, if you’re planning on visiting a branch of Barker shoes don’t go by reviews, go in and decide for yourself if you thought the service was good or bad. For me the service was amongst the best I’ve received in any store and what I’d expect from a high end store and I hope it is for you when you visit."
