"I was brand new to the area a couple of years ago and brought my VW car here for a full service based on good reviews. At the time it was still under manufacturers warranty and had only done 20k miles, so I asked to be notified if there were any issues as I'd be covered under warranty. Once I'd left the car, I had to chase for an update all day and when I finally got in touch with them, they told me they had replaced a part (without notifying me). The new part wasn't a VW part (the brand they used was "Lucas", which I suppose is reputable enough), and the whole thing ended up costing me £400, which felt ridiculous given the age and mileage on the car, and the fact it was under warranty, however I was left with no choice but to pay as they had already replaced the part without asking me first. The part they replaced apparently "wouldn't have been covered" by manufacturers warranty, but it was their legal obligation to notify me first regardless. I wanted a simple service but instead got exploited and ripped off, probably because I'm a young woman, so I would never come back here again and wouldn't recommend anyone else coming here, especially not women."
