"I first went in the very early days (1993) and was served by the man himself. The result was one of best suits I've ever had, excellent material and fit. Nowadays the company is a slickly marketed, big scale operation. And my two mtm suits were not in the same league..."
"Just bought my first item from here, the blue Donegal double-breasted coat. It is absolutely gorgeous, both to wear and to look at. Fabric and construction are beautiful. Also really impressed with the service, after a hiccup at the start. Really friendly and helpful. I’ll be back (once my bank balance recovers)."
"I ordered a made to measure suit at the start of summer, was told it would be ready 'either mid July or mid August '. As my wedding was first weekend of September both would be fine. I emailed first week of August to check in as hadn't heard anything. No response. I emailed again following week. First they say there was issue with the fabric, and asked when the wedding was. Then, they tell me there was a fire at the factory. By this point it was under 3 weeks until my wedding, which meant I had to go and find another suit. I'd been looking forward to the treat of a made to measure suit for my wedding, and they totally let this down. Based on other reviews seems it's not an isolated problem. Avoid."
"Tl;dr: Suit arrived much later than expected, with a missing waistcoat and no prior warning. I went into this store back in May for a Made to Measure suit. After ordering a 3 piece I was told it would arrive with plenty of time to spare (~1 month) before the wedding. After chasing and not hearing back, I drop in to check and finally get to know it will arrive 10 days before the wedding. When I go in to trial it after its arrival, I find that only the jacket and trouser arrived. Staff had to look at the original order to tell me the factory ran out of cloth and didn’t make the waistcoat. This would’ve been fine if it arrived earlier and I got some warning. The fact they went ahead and made it, and only told me all this the week before the wedding has completely ruined the experience I’ve had with this tailor. It’s not worth it for the price you will pay here. Honestly, there are a lot of really good tailors in London where you will find good quality suits too and not have terrible customer service. Will not be returning or recommending to anyone."
"I bought a made to measure suit at the TE store in Bruton Place few months ago. I was served by a gentleman called Julian. The fitting session went well, it was a pleasant process. But the result was a disaster : the jacket and the vest chest cut were awful, there was a huge gap between my chest and the clothings. For the suit, the lapels were simply not following at all the shape of my body, there was enough space to allow me to have breast implants ! When I brought the suit back, Julian looked very embarrassed. He took the suit back and told me he would find a way to fix it. Few weeks after, I came back to the store but the problem remained even if a bit less visible. Just a bit... Julian told me the fabric was to blame. Which didn’t really convince me. But I was in a rush, so I took the suit, I didn't say a word but didn't think less. I thought I would send an email to the company but then there was covid again and then I had to spend time abroad and few weeks after... I received an email informing me that the store was closed and I understood the company was shut down. I never wore the suit, it stayed on a hanger for months. Few weeks ago, I met a someone who recommended me to a specialist in alterations. I decided to give it a shot and brought my TE suit to her. The seamstress was shocked of what she discovered. She showed me in details… Basically the work TE did was below all standards. And the alterations which were made to "fix" it were even more scandalous. She spent hours to "re cut" the suit... So I went on Internet and discovered TE still in business. I sent 2 emails. No answer... From my research Mr Everest left the company years ago. I don't know who is in charge now. But I wouldn't advise anyone looking for a MtM suit to go to TE. The final product is bad, the customer service doesn't exist... Very very bad experience. PS : the seamstress who saved my suit is part of Chelsea Green Valet. She made an amazing job."
