Reviews of Firswood Community Centre
"A great place to enjoy community classes such as ballet, tai chi and yoga. Also an excellent place to hire for any pricate function such as children's birthday celebrations."
"Had several events held here. Cannot say how amazing they are. Sharon is soo understanding to every need."
"The manager Sharon is very nasty, unprofessional and rude. I would avoid booking this venue at all costs! Sharon asks for a security deposit of £200 before booking the venue and in the end she will wrongfully accuse you of causing damage to the property so that she can retain your full deposit. For this reason I DO NOT recommend booking this venue. After threatening her with court she agreed to return half of my deposit however, this is not sufficient. She is extremely rude and a very very nasty person. There was dirt on the kitchen floor which was removable however, she accused me of causing damage. She specifically asked me not to mop the floors therefore, I didn’t mop. I have photographic evidence of the dirt being removable and it is NOT damage as such. She lied to me about having to get someone in to repair the damage but there was no damage I went back and had a look at the venue. Therefore, Sharon was lying and will try to scam you for your money. Being part of the Firswood community i have always felt proud as I have always been respected and valued in this community however, after this I feel incredibly devalued and disrespected! I work hard for my money and for Sharon to wrongfully retain my deposit is unacceptable. I have now contacted the local council and I will be getting my deposit back."
"I Celebrated my 50th Birthday Party here 30th April 2022. This place was Amazing. It had everything you needed for my event. The main hall was a great size for the amount of people that came. There is also another room which came in handy. Kitchen was spot on. very clean indeed. As food was to be served. Fridge, oven, microwave, was available. Toilets were were fresh and tidy. Firswood Community Centre I will give 10 out of 10 for Service. Sharon who runs the place, is so friendly and pleasant. I will definitely be booking here again. A lot of my guest have already booked in dates for future events. Everything you needed was catered for here. Other Venues hourly rate were twice the price, and not as good a service here. I didn’t have one complaint all night about anything to do with this centre. My birthday was a success, all thanks to Firswood Community Centre. ❤️❤️❤️❤️"
"- Very unprofessional person appointed as in charge of this centre. - Facility is good but management is worst. - Lack of cleanliness. We used this facility for kids birthday celebration. We reached facility 5-10 mins advance of the booking time and facility was locked so we informed(not used) to the owner/manager that we are outside and she said someone will come around and provide access on exact time. We were happy with that however we didn’t found anyone after 5 mins of the booking start time so tried calling her multiple times but no response. Between 6-8 mins received owners/managers call informing that someone would be around and then the gentlemen unlocked the facility for us and we moved on. We found a bag of rubbish kept just in front of the door spilling out some sticky substance and spreading odour. Facility has 2 halls suitable for around 30-40 people with good number of table, chairs including kids size and the separate toilets attached to each hall. During our function we experienced delay with catering so assuming that it would delay to return the facility, we informed the person about the delay(more than 30 mins in advance) and requested for extension. After some time received the owners call saying we must evaluate the property as per exact scheduled time otherwise she’ll not return the deposit(£100). Our request was to extend by 30 min in order to get the facility cleaned because we were already booked the cleaners and they were around. Somehow we managed to wrap up everything including cleaning with delay of 6-8 mins over booking time. Considering the delay to start use of property, it’s exactly the same time we booked and paid for(nothing extra). I would recommend to use this facility if you don't expect any cooperation and coordination. To owner: We consider this as a service for which we are paying for and nothing else. Also this review is intended to help the people who are willing to use this facility in future. We have not used property before our booking time(correct your false comment). Thank you for thinking about our next events however we are capable to take care of it. I hope you think professionally and take this positively to improve and provide better experience."
