Locals would have a long way to go to find a shop, or even a bar, that would fulfill broad, modern beer interests this well if BB Davenport was not here. My personal interests are craft beer and red wine. There is a diverse selection of wine that covers many producers, grape varieties and budgets. People who like other stuff such as cider, gin or whiskey will find a wide range of well selected products too."

"Great selection of booze far beyond your normal average run of the mill bargain booze, great selection of wines gins and spirits if that's what you are after. They have a really good selection of beers, they have your usual suspects lager wise, they also have a really good selection of craft beers including cloudwater, track brewery , Wylam, North brewery, Northern monk and marble brewery, they also have a keg line on so you can get a growler filled, highly recommended"

"REAL ALE MECCA!!! NOT YOUR AVERAGE BARGAIN BOOZE! Around 3 years ago I asked if there was any chance of getting a few more real ales in to add to a fairly small, ersatz selection. I went in the other day and there were yet more new arrivals to add to the must be over 100 ales already on offer. Ales from £1 - £43 a bottle to suit all palates. Local ales well represented and international craft breweries too, such as the excellent Nest Brewery from Japan. Full credit to Paul and the team - the selection is second to none and refreshingly priced too. Well worth a visit."
