"Good choice of tools and materials, easy to use catalogue, and I've found Toolstation to be generally cheaper than Screwfix which is just a couple of hundred yards away. So much easier than trudging round B&Q or Wickes searching for what you need,- just browse online at home, note down the catalogue numbers, and collect from the desk 'Argos-style'. Superb. My review above from 4 years ago. My review now isn't quite as favourable. The convenience is the same, but there are items they used to stock that they don't stock now so there have been times when I've had to search elsewhere or buy online whereas once I could trust Toolstation to have what I need."
"I was disappointed with the service from toolstation Altrincham as despite ordering online to ensure that the items that I wanted were in the branch, when I arrived 2 days after being notified that the items were in stock over half the order wasn't in. Then David and James went above and beyond to do all they could however with toolstation in such a disarray it was as if they were banging there head against a brick wall. James reordered the items that weren't in we then returned 3 days later, after a phone call off James to find all but one of the items had arrived. James then had to reorder the tool box as ordered rather than the shipped insulation foam and James was the only college that realise that the foam wasn't a tool box. After a further day waiting we were informed by James that to tool box had arrived. Unfortunately not to my surprise something else went wrong. The tool box was broken. Then James had to reorder the toolbox yet again and finally we went in to collect the tool box just to find yet again it had not arrived. We then quiried this with Ged the manager, his belittling and utterly rude response showed no empathy. This hassel could all have be avoided if the manager of the brach had picked and checked my order correctly however it is never his"
"I honestly couldn’t thank Jed (the manager at this store) enough today if I tried. I had my car window smashed in Manchester last night, and searched so many stores around altrincham this morning for wrap/tape or just anything to use as cover, with absolutely no luck. As soon as I arrived at Toolstation and spoke to Jed at the desk about what had happened he could not go out of his way enough to help me, wrapping the whole window up for me within 10 minutes securely, so I could go about my day/ weekend feeling safer until able to get it repaired. He turned what was a pretty grim day for me around massively- we need more people like you Jed. Thank you so so much again."
"Absolutely appalling customer services received in your Altrincham branch today from Dave. Ordered a product for click and collect. Waited to receive the text to say it was available for collection, which was received at 9.19am. Drove 20 miles to the store only to be told that the product wasn’t available and that they’d have to issue a refund, which takes up to 5 days. I asked why I received a text to say that the order was available for collection when it wasn’t, any why nobody bothered to call me to say the item wasn’t available, and instead let me drive all the way to the store to find out, and was told ‘how would we do that?’ It’s called a telephone. Dave then continued to say that I was being sarcastic, rude and such, when I merely was questioning the level of customer services received and why he found it acceptable. At this point I started to get irate due to his lack of willingness to help, to which Dave shouted at me across the desk ‘you’re shouting at me’. Ironic much? Absolute shambles of a company, and the customer service received from Dave is probably the worst I have had in years. Another member of staff, James, suggested to Dave to step away due to the manner in which he was finding it acceptable to speak to me. James then looked at other options, called other branches and such and acknowledged my frustrations in the process. Unfortunately the only resolution was to issue a refund, despite one being in stock just a few miles down the road at another branch, but James’ efforts were greatly appreciated, especially given the customer services received from Dave prior. Sadly even through James’ best efforts, there is no way I would ever recommend this branch to anyone."
"Five star service. Jade (the manger) helped me to pick the correct equipments I needed for my project. He showed a great manner and professionalism. It was my first time to but from them, but I was really impressed. Definitely, I will try them again."
