"Turned up on spec to ask about sleepers for the garden. Had them available. I asked if could be cut to size, he could do cross cut but not lengthwise. Which was fine for me. Was asked to call back in an hour as other customers on site already. Did so, and all ready on arrival, even helped me in to the car with it. What more can you say Amazingly job is virtually complete in less than half a day. Thanks"
"Ignores phone calls. Doesnt reply to texts. Promises the world and delivers none. Hadnto cancel a job because of being let down by these guys. No point being cheap and never having the goods."
"Really poor service from these guys. I had to ring and order a custom size fence panel on 3 occasions and each time was promised if would be ready in a day or so. Each time I rang up they had forgotten to complete the order. On the last time of ringing the yard, they lad on the phone asked me for the fence sizes for the third time and when I didn’t have them to hand he said could I ring him back in 10 minutes as he needed to ring another customer rather than trying to find my previous order. Really poor service and I certainly wouldn’t recommend using them."
"Whiteheads are selling what they claim are reclaimed floorboards from a 'sub floor' from Ashton Hospital 'which has just come down'. However, this hospital was demolished 7 years ago (2011). They say the boards were nailed from the ends which is why there are no nail holes - I'm not sure who secures a floor by the ends of a timber! The reason, having received the boards, is that the boards look no more than 2 years old (cheap white, fresh timber), are full of moisture and have some sort of dirt distress which washes off and seems to have been applied (see horizontal stack marks). There was no one who could discuss the issue on purchase (owner away) and not to hold up the job we used the boards, but asked for a discount as they were not as described. This discount was refused. A refund was offered, but that doesn't compensate for mis-sold goods and the fact that I would still be £50 out of pocket on delivery. They still claim the boards are reclaim, but they don't look like any reclaim boards I've ever seen. So beware - it looks like you're getting a cheap deal, but in fact you're getting cheap modern timber at a price which suddenly looks very expensive."
