"Warm welcome from the outset Food was of a good standard overall but the rice did have a smoky aroma which may or may not have been intentional. Food service was staggered for some reason, we ordered 3 main course dishes between the two of us which were brought to the table by three different waiters/ waitress. The mixed starter for two and these three dishes was plenty. Clear up service started a bit soon as I was still eating whilst the young waitress started to clear the table (not standard etiquette in my opinion)"
"The food is way too expensive for the quality. The service is borderline rude. There was only one other table when we went, but we had to look for the waiters.. I wouldn't recommend it. There are better service and better food for cheaper elsewhere."

"Horrible service and nasty food. No one attended to us unless we flagged them down. 2 waitresses literally ignored us and walked away. The food was completely bland and had no flavor. Not even salt. The sweet and sour chicken tasted like old with sauce poured all over it, and the fried rice was more burnt than fried. Would leave zero stars of I could. Never again."
"Take out adventure, anyone? We drove over an hour (yup!) from Canterbury for this Chinese food and… it was worth it! I’m actually NOT a lover of Chinese food but my friend has spoken about China Palace, Docklands for years where he would go after work in this commercial district. Then today, on a whim, we hit the road so I could put it to the test. We didn’t order until we arrived, waited no more than ten minutes in the car, turned around and drove back home. Just over an hour later the food was still warm and fresh and yes, I admit, delicious. It’s the best take out I’ve had in ages, and better than any traditional Chinese food I’ve eaten in Canterbury. I’m surprised to see such a wide range of ratings and reviews here, and can’t imagine that this same restaurant could have delivered any food or service under four stars; though based on our experience today I give it five for take out. But this was only my first time, so who’s to say? I will for one, because it won’t be my last take out trip to China Palace!"
