"I needed a dress for my sons wedding and happened to pass by the Suzy Hamilton shop in Harrogate. As a mature mother of the groom I wanted something classy and fun which didn't make me look and feel ancient. Wendy the shop assistant was amazing, she suggested I try on a beautiful 'Kelly' patterned dress which at first I declined because I don't usually go for patterns. As soon as I tried the dress on with matching bolero I felt so comfortable and knew instantly I had found my outfit. I bought the dress and matching bolera and although it is the most expensive dress I have ever bought, it certainly wasn't the most expensive occasion dress I looked at. The dress was well worth it and I will be able to wear it again in different settings along with the jacket so its a great investment. The dress got so many compliments at my sons wedding it was incredible. I will definitely return to Suzy Hamiltons in the future."
"Having called 2 weeks previously and sent an email through the 'contact us' part of the website I was assured that the shop would be open on bank holiday Monday. I drove 50miles with my mum specifically to go to this shop, met my aunt and cousin only to find it was closed. Subsequent emails have gone unacknowledged. Terrible customer service."
"Went to Harrogate from the Scottish Borders last Saturday (9 June) specially to buy a Suzi Hamilton dress for my eldest daughters wedding! I had promised myself one ever since I first saw them in their now closed Melrose shop. Although I now have my dream dress I have to say it was a nightmare shopping experience, not at all what I had hoped for when setting out to buy my 'mother of the bride' outfit! I chose 3 dresses to try on and loved the first , the shop assistant however would not even let me try on the other 2 (cheaper) dresses, she also confiscated a fascinator my middle daughter was hoping to buy! I felt as though I had been mugged! I was out on the street £559 lighter 15 minutes after I went in! I had a standard sales pitch pushed at me and she didn't listen to a word I said. Also after I had agreed to buy the outfit( which is the most wonderful and glamourous thing I have ever owned) she announced the under skirt was not included, oh dear I thought ' another £20' well no! Another £95! We left and went to The Ivy for lunch and I bought an underskirt online for £8 including postage and it looks just as good! In short what a shame to have such an amazing product let down so badly at the point of sale. The dresses are an everyday thing for those who work with them but should be made to feel special by those who save up to buy them!"
"Retro heaven. The most gorgeous dress shop one could ask for, worthy of such a gorgeous city. Sale rack."
