"Caught up with a friend for coffee and we came here because the cafe we planned to meet was full. From the outside the cafe looked cosy on a cold morning. We ordered coffee and muffin. Within minutes we both returned our muffin because it was so stale i'd guess they had been there for some time. The girl behind the counter said they had issues with the poppy seed muffins. We changed them to a banana muffin which weren't much different. The Latte was like luke warm dish water. There was one pot of sugar to share between the tables and no teaspoons at hand. Lastly the hand soap was empty in the bathroom despite being early in the morning and one other customer. It could be nice, they just haven't thought of the customer experience."
"I found this place by accident and what a find it was. Service was personalised. Salads amazing and home cooked. The place was well set up and inviting. It had a homely feel."
"I'm a carnivore so did not think I'd like this place but was very pleasantly surprised. Had a bowl of various tasty things from the salad bar such as falafel, cucumber and tomato salad, aubergine salad. Everything was very well seasoned and fresh. The prices are a bit punchy for what they offer and the place seems to be a meeting point for Herne Hill's jimmy mummy brigade which. Would not recommend this place for working and they should ask people with screaming kids to show some respect to other customers unless they specifically want to target that audience."
"We came in for brunch with my toddler. We ordered lunch as well as a meal for my little boy. Our food was ok. Breakfast fritters were tasty but the beans were hard and tepid rather than hot. The mae bowl was very small for £10. Upon offering the children's meal I wasn't told it would take 15 mins to come nor offered a high chair. It turned up piping hot after we'd finished our food. By the time it was cool enough to eat my toddler had lost interest so a complete waste of money. Staff were very pretentious."
"Visited this deli yesterday and ordered a children's platter which consisted of hummus, falafel and carrot sticks. The falafel were ice cold when they arrived, and the carrots were those pre-cut sticks you can buy from the supermarket, which is not what I expected from a place that prides itself on quality ingredients. My daughter was refusing to eat any of it but I kept insisting she at least have some carrots and a bite of the falafel, which she did. but when she handed me a half eaten carrot stick i noticed that it was all slimey. In the afternoon she started having tummy issues and has had diarrhoea every since. The other child in our party who ordered the same platter also has had tummy issues since so I'm wondering if it's due to possible hygiene issues in the kitchen? I am very disappointed that a place that is supposed to be somewhere for health conscious people to eat high quality food would present such low standard food for children of all people! It was quite expensive to boot, with salad bowls priced at £9 and charging £3.50 for a hot chocolate. I will not be visiting again."
