"“Can’t do toast at this time, sweet” Despite the café being empty and having two hungry preschool children with me. Staff unable or unwilling to put a slice of bread in a toaster because the clock hands have moved around slightly. Told my 4 year old that all the toast had been given to the birds cos the actual truth was too absurd."
"The massive pro of this place is the surrounds, it is right in the middle of Stamford Park. The cafe itself is nice and clean, the staff are very hardworking, friendly and helpful. However it could be set out better around the counter, it is disastrous there for able bodied, well hearing people as it is, for people with disabilities, well I really don't know what you would do when it is really busy? Food was nice and staff were lovely, despite being extremely busy."
"Staff are always so friendly and it is always a nice little visit and quiet. They do a good brew and somewhere to sit from the cold."
"I used the function room at this venue for my daughters 5th birthday party. The staff were helpful and the venue was a good size."
"Bought a kids picnic for my 1 year old. Standard cheese sandwich - nothing special, yoghurt etc. Which was fine. However, my baby refused to eat anyrhing out of the pack. We were out for a while and I didn't want him not to eat anything as hes been unwell recently and so more picky with his food. Asked the woman behind the counter to heat some baby food. She refused and stated this was because it was brought from outside. Firstly, I certainly didn't see any ellas kitchen baby meals on the menu so buying baby food from there wasnt an option and secondly I have already spent £4 on a kids picnic that my baby refused to even look at. This has never happened to me before and I am quite shocked at the lack of compassion and understanding! Anyway I would say don't come here with a Baby as they won't heat the baby food, as this would obviously have a massive impact on their profit! Glad I didn't have a younger baby who was even more limited food wise and less likely to be able to wait. I came with another adult and 2 older children who all spent money on food and drinks. Next time we will bring a picnic it will be better quality anyway."
