Reviews of Yum Yum
"Food is usually good, slightly disappointed recently as not as good as usual. Seem to cater more to online orders now and in person visits are 'inconvenient' (especially with an infant in a child seat!). Cash only, and you have to order through a 4 inch 'window' so can't hear properly..."
"My brother lives in a residential home and staff regularly order takeaways from here as a weekend treat for the residents and spend around £45 each time. They placed an order this evening and specifically requested a HALAL meal when placing the order, this is something that they ALWAYS do because they have to ensure, within their professional capacity as highly-skilled and experienced carers, that they cater for the dietary needs of the adults they care for. One of the carers telephoned the takeaway to confirm the collection time and was told that the meal that had been ordered was not halal, this was a shock to her as staff had specifically requested a HALAL meal as they do EVERY SINGLE TIME AN ORDER IS PLACED. The member of staff who placed the original order telephoned the takeaway to try to resolve the issue and was spoken to in a very rude, disrespectful and unbelievably unprofessional manner, accused of being a liar and then had the phone slammed down on her, to add insult to injury the takeaway then wouldn't answer the phone when she tried to phone back. Another member of staff then telephoned the takeaway in the hope of trying to resolve the situation calmly and explained that she had herself heard the order being made and specifically reminded the member of staff placing the order to request a HALAL meal, and had heard the member of staff telling the person that it had to be from the halal kitchen. The lady on the telephone again accused the member of staff of lying! She was then, very begrudgingly, offered another meal, but given the attitude of YumYum staff it was decided that they could not be trusted to send a halal meal after what had just happened. I really don't blame them! Absolutely unbelievable and disgusting behaviour from a business that has had a lot of trade from the home, whatever happened to valuing customer loyalty?? It is beyond belief that in this day and age, when businesses depend on positive customer feedback posted online and on repeat custom from loyal customers, that anyone could possibly treat their customers like this. I will be making sure that this takeaway does not receive any business from anyone I know. The Google reviews for this business paint a dire picture of how they've been operating over the past few months, with poor customer service, inconsistent quality of food and a lacklustre approach to maintaining a loyal customer base. Given the current economic climate you'd think they'd try a bit harder! In conclusion I would advise anyone thinking about ordering from here to AVOID AT ALL COSTS. EDIT: Just noticed that they prefer cash on collection, I wonder if anyone has made HMRC aware of this? Hmm..."
"Great food at a decent price. Went in to order take away at peak time and was very politely told the wait would be about 30 min. Actually can in 20min. Super delicious and decent portion size. Staff were friendly despite the hectic time of day."
